Liver Disease : What is fatty liver - British Liver Trust
Liver Disease
In simple terms Fatty liver is when fat deposits build up in the liver, they can then start to squish liver cells leading to the liver throwing out fibrous tissue to protect cells although if this process continues the fibrous tissue itself becomes an issue leading to the liver becoming denser and more fibrous and eventually can lead to cirrhosis.
Fatty liver can be due to alcohol or becoming more common in the western world is the condition called Non-Alcohol Related Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) both conditions you can read up on at the British Liver Trust website with both considered reversible if changes are made to diet, lifestyle and exercise regimes.

Fatty liver is extra fat in ur liver lol
From a high diet of fat over time you can get a fatty liver it can become scarred just like cirrhosis of the liver if not too far along the liver can heal itself and have function
Fatty liver is the build up of fats in your liver, the liver produces its own fats and if liver function is low it can cause a build up. So can eating fatty foods regularly or being obese. You can get it through drinking too much (known as AFLD which is Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease) or people who don't drink can get it (NAFLD or Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver disease) I don't drink and I have the latter, I'm also not hugely overweight but mine may be from some other causes which I'm waiting for results to identify. Fatty liver can progress if not addressed and managed into Non-alcoholic or alcoholic steatohepatitis as the second step, the third step is fibrosis of the liver and the final step is cirhosis of the liver which is the most dangerous stage. It's best to make lifestyle changes to manage it straight away as soon as you know you have a fatty liver. I've been losing weight to help. Hope this helps!
I wish someone had told me all these stages of liver disease!
