Looks very hopeful on using livers that might otherwise be rejected.

Hi Millie,

I really wanted to watch this but I have been so busy, I didn't realise there have been three episodes. I wonder if I can find them somewhere do you know?

Otherwise you'll have to give me the low down!

:-)

They're all on BBC iPlayer, you can watch them anytime. 👍

Our cat enjoys raw liver - I have to leave the room when its being either prepared or eaten. I felt the same before transplant !

Wow. Just watched it on i player. That is fantastic news i hope the machine helps many more people get their liver transplant. Having received one myself it was amazing to watch the bits of surgery they showed. I was mesmerized and also slightly teary watching how my surgeons would have saved my life. Amazing how everything is joined up together, i am in awe. 😊

I loved watching all the episodes. I had my transplant at QE and I've come across Doctor Perera a few times too but my surgeon was Professor Miuesin. Amazing what they can do and amazing how passionate they are about saving more lives.

Dr perera was my surgeon at QE. I missed the programme, could you tell me what it’s called so that I can download what I’ve missed.

Many thanks

Ah it was brilliant. The Liver Transplant was performed by the surgeon (Mr Perera) who I have met a couple of times and signed the consent form for surgery with. I hope he is the one to perform my transplant. I signed up to be part of this trial the first time I was on the list in 2015.

Thank you. Im wondering if anyone here has experienced mild encephalopathy. I dunno why but I’ve been getting really wound up recently about silly things. Short time later I’d feel really down or anxious and stressed. It’s just constantly up and down. I keep forgetting to do stuff too. Like general daily stuff that you just remember to do subconsciously.

Watched it and didn't really appreciate the work of the surgeons who were brilliant not to forget the rest of the brilliant team who I think I will be with for the rest of my life. Transplant in 2015 and although it wasn't straight forward everyone was and is brilliant 😃😃😃😃

I had a split liver transplant at QE carried out by Mr Perera in 2015. I signed up for the profusion machine trial. My transplant went smoothly and my experience of Mr Perera was outstanding, a very professional man with compassion and outstanding patient care. The team at QE were so kind and supportive to me I could not have hoped for better care.

Very interesting to see what happened while I was asleep amazing programme.

Not sure I could have watched it prior to transplant but that’s just me. Bit of a wuss.

It is too late to say but it is really good

Yeah, you're right, It's too late to say that this is a good thing. In General, surgery is often fascinating. Especially those doctors who are proficient with a scalpel. This may sound very strange right now, but isn't it nice to sometimes see a professional in his field save his patient with skillful movements? Surgery can be different. It's not always blood, organs, or the screams of the beholder in horror. For example, plastic surgery is a real art for me. Different type of surgery like here enblocsurgeons.com/ to save her life. My bow to the doctors
