Sitting outside the cafe, a family sat next to us. Mum wad described something that happened a few years previous.

Her five year old son piped up. 'was I there mummy?'

'No son it was before you were born.'

'Does that mean I was extinct mummy?'

LOL, Children are so funny with the gems that they come out with. Years ago I was looking after my 3 year old nephew, the coal man called at the house, my nephew looked up at him and in all innocence said " You're a dirty old man aren't you?" I wanted to climb into the nearest hole! :-( :-(

Kids are hilarious, a few years ago in my capacity as a Special Police Constable I was on duty at our local police office open day. My Dad brought along my foster brothers and sisters (aged 3, 4 & 5). Outside the office we had the mounted branch with a couple of gorgeous big police horses and also the dog unit with a couple of police dogs. Dad and the kids had a good look at those and then came into the office for a look around. Having seen the horses and the dogs the 5 year old then walked straight up to our 'Mr Angry' Inspector and looked up at him before asking him quite innocently "Where are the Police Pigs?" OMG, Inspector looked down in astonishment and little 5 year old pipes up again "We've seen the police horses and the police dogs but where are the police pigs?" I could have died ......... she was an innocent wee soul and really, really didn't know what she was asking. I had to take her aside and have a wee word. My Dad was hoping the ground would open up and swallow him. :)

Priceless!

That's great. The things our children say. I remember my youngest son was in the playground aged5 and he stuck his tongue out at a dinner lady, she said why did you do that to which he replied I didn't think you would turn round so fast and see me do it!! He was just being honest!!! Take care Lynne xxxx

in reply to

Coolio - that’s the way to do it 😁. Bet it didn’t stop him doing it again though, because he now had a challenge to see how often he could get away with it 😁.

in reply to

No, he didn't do it again!! He was only in reception.

I've actually had a bit if sleep tonight, it's a miracle!! Take care. Lynne

in reply to

Ahhh - well in reception you can get away with anything can’t you. Funny thing is I can’t remember that far back 😁 - I mean when I was in Reception - except I know it was called kindergarten when I was little 👍. Crikey that was only 60 years ago......

Glad you have had some sleep - now have some more! 👍

in reply to

Showing your age, now!!

We are very proud of both our sons. Youngest has Crohn's disease which thankfully is in remission and our other son has bowel isst, they both cope so well.

Take care Lynne

in reply to

Sorry - I wasn’t inferring your lad was naughty - when young you have to be a little mischievous don’t you - one way of learning right from wrong 👍.

Glad that both your sons are coping with their adversities so it’s ☹️ But 😁👍.

Sorry, phone was on silent and I've been reading as couldn't get back to sleep.

I know you weren't.

Mike still lives at home, hoping to do his PhD in 2020, he was hoping he would be doing it this year but wasn't accepted on to the course. Anyway, this time the lecturer does like his proposal. He said he probably needed to do much more reading. Said f he doesn't get in for next year he will wait a few years before trying again. Our other son finished his degree last year , wasn't sure whether to do his master's on or travel to so I said travel while you are well. Anyway he has now got a lovely girlfriend, they are looking to rent. Isn't has been saving the last year and has saved£5000!! Chantelle has been saving for the 3 years at uni and dge has saved £15000!!, We are very proud of them both.

Mike has a part time job which is enough for him due to health, he can be up 8 times per night, he has a lovely girlfriend and I know they would like to move out but both need to be full time first. They both would like to work in a care home. Wr are also very proud of them both.Hubby, Dave, works as a handyman at Buckley Hall Prison in rochdale and loves it!!,

Take care Lynne

Hi

Sorry if I start to rabbit on. I really wish I could work but I know there's no chance of that.

Dave has hated one or two jobs that he's had but has stuck out to keep a roof of our heads. The lads have said to him I don't know how you stuck at it, we are really proud of you Dad as I am too

Before I finished work I would be coming home in tears every night cos of pain and no sleep, I must have been on auto pilot!! Luckily I worked with a brilliant crowd of people and a fantastic boss. Don't know why I'm going on, my head see me s everywhere today!!! Take care and thanks for your support Lynne

in reply to

Lynne - that’s so nice to hear about your family. Wow I wish they could advise me how to save money like that! Most youngsters come out of uni with huge debt these days so for those ones getting a mortgage must be a horrendous task 👎🏻.

Of course you can’t work if you can’t sleep at night and are so ill. I was ill but didn’t know what it was - this is before I was diagnosed with anything - so just handed in my notice. That was 5 years ago. Even post TP still not fit enough to do paid work so just do volunteer stuff instead. Then if I don’t feel up to going in it isn’t quite so crucial and I don’t feel too guilty 😁.

Anyway hope you are asleep now but bet you aren’t.

Good luck to you and all your family. 👍👍👍👍.

Thank you. No u wasn't asleep, slept until 3,a miracle in itself!;

Hope you enjoy your volunteer work.

Are you out and about today?

A couple of friends are taking me out for lunch at a garden centre near us today.

How are you and yours doing?

Take care Lynne

in reply to

I absolutely love my volunteer work. But “my” patient buggy broke about 6 weeks ago when I was driving it (not my fault - honestly 😁) and it still hasn’t been fixed! The Hospital only has the one.

Hope you have a good time out - sounds like you really really need a good time 👍

Miles

Thank you, I really enjoyed it.

What do you do when the patient buggy isn't working? Take care Lynne

Kids are great. We have one grandchild Beni, who is nearly 2 and who lives in Mexico City. See him every week on Skype, but it would be lovely to give him a squidgy cuddle
