Hi Cackfc,

You're about to get a reply from BLT about not posting results of tests etc. They generally frown on it for good reason. However, I can see you are concerned so will offer a view for you based on my experience in the hope that it gives you a bit of comfort at least. However, do not take this as any form of diagnosis. Your daughter's doctor will be the only one able to give that.

I think Katie (Ayrshire K) has responded to your earlier post with some really good info.

White blood cell count, ESR and CRP can all be raised in the acute phase of any infection. CRP is something that actually reduces pretty quickly too as the body starts to recover. That's generally why doctors like to use it to judge the effectiveness of any treatment.

With your daughter's LFTs also on the high side, as you point out in your earlier message, my guess, and it is a guess, is that she is having some form of acute infection, possibly viral, possibly of the liver. Such infections can though usually be effectively treated without any long term implications. I had something similar some twenty odd years ago due to a bit of dodgy beef. Don't worry though, that had absolutely nothing to do with my eventual liver disease. That was something completely different and very unrelated.

Now of course there are lots of things that can cause the test results your daughter has, and a full picture is needed to form any sort of diagnosis. That's why her doctor is the only one really that can offer an accurate diagnosis. Please don't share all her symptoms here. BLT will really do their nut at that, lol (sorry BLT). I do though hope this response can offer you a little bit of comfort in the short term until a full diagnosis becomes available from her doctor.

If it’s ok God Bless you. I’m having tears of relief. I’m new to this first timer so didn’t know. Her doctor has her right now n doing further testing as I write. I’m waiting n praying. My family history is what’s making me so worried. Thank you so much cause this is sooo scary. I’ve been down the cancer role 3 times but know my daughter would be too much. Me first. Thank you so much

Hi

I'm so sorry that you are going through all this. It sounds like your daughter is in good hands and having all the necessary tests done. Please take care. Lots of love Lynne xxxx

Hi,

This forum is here to share experiences and provide support to each other and we would advise against posting any test results or asking for specific medical advice.

This is not a medical forum and should not be used to try and make diagnoses or replace advice from your own medical practitioners who have a much wider view of your health and test results.

We appreciate how worried you are and hope you can still post with regards to support and information but it is against the rules of our forum to post test results and to ask for specific medical advice.

You may find The British Liver Trust publication on liver disease tests explained useful to read.

However, it really would be best to discuss your test results with your own doctors who know you best,

Kind Regards,

BLT Admin

I’m so sorry I didn’t know n won’t do it again. Where can I find your rules so I don’t mess up again. Thank you for telling me. And thank you for allowing me in this group. They really helped to calm me down. Again I’m so sorry.
