Hallo all, my hubby has liver cirrhosis and for some time he has a very swollen lump in his groin near the penis. Firstly the swelling came and disappeared. Dr says it is a hernia
and nothing can be done. It is very uncomfortable and worrying. Has anyone had the same
experience. He is also going into hospital on Monday to extract a few teeth and after a long battle they will be looking at his low platelets before surgery. He will only be given sedation.
Hope all goes well.
God Bless and take care
Celia

Hello Celia, firstly I want to point out that I'm not medically qualified and would never want to challenge a doctors advice or diagnosis. Many years ago when I too was drinking heavy (my wife had taken her own life, and I was in a dark place) I too developed a a painful lump in the groin. This was just to the right of the testicles. I had a ultrasound scan carried out and it showed to be an inflamed lymph node. This was then surgically removed but wasn't cancerous.
I just thought I'd mention this, but please don't go jumping to any conclusions, as a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.
Hi, we have to question the actions or inactions of some doctors. I had an ingual hernia 2 years ago (which sounds the same) and decided with the advice of a specialist to have it treated and am pleased that my own doctor was so supportive, affording me a satisfactory result.
So when your husbands doctor says nothing can be done about it I would strongly recommend you challenge your doctor on this point or change him/her.
