My husband took it for some time when after liver transplant his bile duct was blocked and had to be stented regularly until it was fully unblocked. No problem with Urso, if it works and you do not have to undergo surgery, all well and good.
Stacey131 Hello. I have a gallbladder full of them, and doc told me it's no big deal. I do have attacks and if any get way out of hand or extremely painful, I am to go to emergency. People often get surgery but my dr says it isn't really necessary unless you have a ton of them or really big ones that might cause a blockage.
Do a search on Google online: "gallstones" and read all about them. Hopefully, you will feel better after reading about gallstones. Since your dr will give you Urso, you are really all set. I also hate having surgery. Remember they make the most money from surgery. My doc would not even give me the script, but I plan to ask for it again. I don't care if it takes years to dissolve them to avoid surgery it is worth it. Let us know what you decide to do and how you feel. If you take Urso, tell us what it is like as I want to ask my dr again about that. Thank you and good luck on your journey.
Hi, Just saw your post I had gallstones at the start of my liver problems. I had surgery which could not have been easier prior to this I had to have pain killing shots as the pain was excruciating. At a later stage I had what I called my bear bile period ( Ursa means bear its bile being integral to this medicine)For me the surgery was much more pleasant.Don't be afraid of the gallstones or surgery should it be necessary , it is done laproscopically I couldn't even find the scar.
You may need to look at your diet to avoid any more.I am grateful for my gallstones as the pre surgery scan showed my cirrhosis and no it does not mean you will have cirrhosis.Traditionally gallstones were more prevalent in ladies ( fair ,fat and forty ) but I was male ,dark ,fit and fifty. Better to know and monitor but don't worry I just had my 67th birthday and going strong. You will be fine. Best wishes .
Thanks for your replies. I think googling has made my fears worse tbh I'm so scared I'm going to get pancreatitis or liver disease from the gall stone! I'm also worried that maybe because hey found the gall stone they are just putting my problems down to that Ive never had an attack like people say only mild aches and they're mainly lower abdo and I have been eating what I like really I had a fry up last week and today I had a chicken cheese n Bacon Burger I can drink tea coffee wine eat chocolate ice cream eggs all the things people say set it off, really worries me that they're missing something because they found a stone .
I'm happy my surgeon has said we can talk about the urso tabs and hoping he let's me try them even if till after Xmas as I don't want surgery to close to Xmas as I have 2 small children, my worry with the tabs is if they work and start dissolving the stone what if it then comes out and causes me bigger problems ! I'm only 26 and the worry has taken over my life ! I'm scared every day that my babies are going to grow up without me
