I have been doing some reading up on Low Vitamin D levels, high white blood cells and Liver disease. So from what I can tell, both of these can be a sign of an underlying condition, one of which being Liver Disease. I am feeling very frustrated and my vit D has been low for a couple of years and white blood has also been high for a couple of years, the Dr was aware of this, WHY DIDN'T THEY INVESTIGATE!! Maybe my problems would have been picked up earlier!! Feeling very frustrated about this!!

I know what you mean, mine has never been tested!! One consultant 2 years ago said mine was muscular!! You think they are right but when I didn't feel any better my Dr sent me for tests. If this consultant had done his job I might not be feeling like this!!! I hope you get sorted out. Lots of hugs are being sent your way xxxx
Sorry, I didn't mean about but d and white blood cells. I went to see gastro about ruq pain and without examining me, he told me it was muscular!!!, Xxxx
oh I have total sympathy for you .
I was not feeling so good back in Jan this year .I have cirrhosis now 9yrs stage f4fibrosis .well I had a blood test and it showed I had no vitamin D in my body at all !! had to go on an intense course of vitamin D tabs for 6 weeks then take one a day for life .
Well I had my first appt with a hepetologist in Feb this year .I had a dexa scan done June and I only found out by my gp visit in August I had stage T-2.1 osteopenia . now on both vit d and cakciuin . I had x Rays Monday on the pelvis and hip bone ... if it wasn't for me doing all the chasing I would not be any wiser . was fuming !!! .if your not happy with anything then take it further x
The GP's here can be absolutely useless at times! I went to mine years ago because of stomach pain and was given omeprazole for acid reflux without looking at the underlying cause. Turns out I had cirrhosis for over 10 years. This was only picked up upon being diagnosed with Hepatitis B after a routine check. I've also had minor surgery during that time and nothing was ever picked up. I'm eternally grateful to my donor and transplant team to have had my transplant in a relatively short time (1 year from cirrhosis diagnosis) but also super frustrated as it could have easily been prevented.
My advise to anyone who has a health concern is go to a private GP and do as many overall checks as you can. Your body may thank you later.
