Hi all. How are you all today?

I managed to get a cancellation, so instead of seeing the Liver Specialist on Nov 21st, I saw them today. Not much further forward though. They will be doing a Fibroscan at some point. However, she did say it could be Fibrosis! I don't really know if this is a good or bad thing? I think Fibrosis means the it could reverse to a degree? If it is Fibrosis, does that mean I will get Cirrhosis? Anyway, it's 50/50 at the moment. Just a waiting game.

I hope you are all as well as can be today :)

Hey Connie, that's good. Maybe I should ring my place to see if they have cancellations.

I think it depends on the stage of fibrosis. Cirrhosis is end stage fibrosis. All stages will reverse somewhat if the cause is removed and it can reverse completely if not too damaged. At some point it goes beyond repair though. A fibroscan is a good non invasive test. Hope it goes well.

HI Ronin. I was ringing the appointment line EVERYDAY for Cancellations. I would definitely recommend doing this to anybody who is waiting as the wait is agonising. Although I still don't really have clear answers hopefully now I will get them sooner. Still a waiting game though and praying it is early enough to be reversed.

I hope you are well :) x

So glad you had an earlier appointment, well done for persevering and getting seen yesterday. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for a fibroscan now. My understanding is that Fibrosis damage can be reversed or halted with life style changes or stopping of medication (if it's that whats causing damage). Hopeful this has a good outcome for you. x

Well done for getting the appointment. The liver trust gives a lot of information about the different liver stages.

The other important thing is to take care of you.

Learning to love and take care of my whole body, both physically and emotionally isn't something I'm good at. Please be better than me and make sure you do take both physical and emotional care of you.

I hope this helps.

Gx

Hi glad you got seen quicker I might give it a try I've got a liver ultrasound on 3rd October but have been feeling worse since last Friday. Maybe worth me trying to see if I can get a cancellation

I feel rotten at the moment, thanks for asking. Waiting for liver nurse to get back to me to see if she bring my fibroscan appointment forward and also to see consultant sooner as I'm in so much pain. Haven't been able to lose weight cos of thyroid, consultant said if I don't lose weight it will be cirrhosis then transplant!! Not what our wanted to hear!!! Please take care. Lots of love Lynne xxxx

HI Lynn, I think we all know how terrible it is when you have to wait.

When you are aware of malfunctions in the body you become more aware of the pain,an, of course you know the worry makes it more painful, too. It is easy to say DON'T WORRY, but everyone does. ASK YOUR DOC TO DO A Hyatt scan also. I had fibrosis, 18,% cirrhosis and the pain eas coming from gamgreen ( rotten} gall bladder which did not show on m.r.i. CAT SCAN or ultra sound. For 3 year everyone thought I read a hypochondriac. MY HUSBAND EVEN FORMALLY SAID MAYBE I should go to a shrink.Ask questions.Do not be intimidated Good luck. Karen USA
