hi everyone , just an update on my Dr appointment yesterday, apparently she heard back from the hep dr who has agreed to do a fibroscan, this is what I want, I need to know what is going on, but I am also very scared as to what the findings will be, could it still be possible to have a low f0 f1 score even with severe fatty liver or is that highly unlikely, I am so sorry if I have already asked this, my head is all over the place and I honestly can not remember, my lft are all normal which I hope is a good sign, even though I know it can mean the opposite…..I have also agreed to see a councillor regarding my health anxiety, which only appeared after I had cancer, even the dr agreed that I have many health issues and worries, but she is hoping councilling will help me find ways to deal with it, anyway I will keep you all posted once I get an appt date, thank you all again, I would have gone mad without this forum and all you lovely people xx
update: hi everyone , just an update on... - British Liver Trust
update
Hope the fibroscan gives you some answers. Yes you can have severe fatty liver without fibrosis especially in LFT's show no sign of inflammation or NASH - non alcohol related steato hepatitis. But, obviously fatty build up can lead to fibrosis so steps need to be taken to reduce any fat and the more healthy you can become the more healthy your liver can remain.

Thank you as always Katie for your reply, and for giving me some hope, I am serious about changing my life style and have even bought a swimming costume, I have not swam for forty years, since I was 13 (I love the water and swimming) because I became to conscious of my weight, my attitude now is if I don’t do something I won’t be here to worry how I look, so may as well just do it ….so heres to a new start and hopeful weight loss, thanks again for your very wise words my lovely xx
I’m glad you’re getting the fibroscan. Try and push it out of your mind now (easier said than done I know). Hopefully it will give you the answers you’re looking for. As you will have read on here, even people with quite advanced cirrhosis have managed to turn things round with medication and a healthy lifestyle, so even if the results aren’t ideal, it’s still not the end of the world. It will just be good to know what you’re dealing with because when you don’t know, it’s too easy to catastrophes.
Thank you so much my lovely, your words are so true, I will put it out of my mind now, worrying won’t change the results either way, thank you for reminding me that whatever the outcome it’s not the end of the world , just one thing , does Nash come under hepatic steotosis on ultra sound or ct or does it show as Nash , I am guessing Nash is only shown with fibro results, and goes under the one title of hep steotosis …. Just wondered out if interest and general learning , thank you again for taking the time to reply to me , you have helped me so much xx
NASH would be reflected in your bloods (raised inflammation markers) since it is the inflammation stage which makes it Non Alcohol Related Steato Hepatitis - (hepa/liver - itis/inflammation) - it's the more aggressive form of NAFLD. britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...

Hi Sophia, I’m no expert on NASH but fibroscans are used for all sorts of liver disease to measure how stiff your liver is which gives an indication of whether someone has fibrosis or if it’s developed into cirrhosis. Hopefully it will show that you haven’t got either. Fingers crossed, now go and distract yourself by doing something you enjoy. It’s lovely outside after the snow. I couldn’t believe how warm it was in the garden
