My first post here after reading lots of your posts. I've been having pain under and below my lower left rib cage on and off for months. Multiple doc appts later and nothing has come up in blood tests (dr checked everything - liver, inflammation, calcium, vitamins, thyroid etc etc) or on chest X-ray. Also been fully checked by cardiologist, had ecgs etc. I'm now waiting for my gastroenterologist appt in two weeks. But after going through all times the pain has escalated it's been after antibiotics or after alcohol. I've read up on the antibiotics I've had to take repeatedly and they show they can cause inflammation of pancreas.
The pain is sometimes just a discomfort like there's a ping pong ball stuck to my ribs but other times it whips round front and back and the last time I couldn't move much/cough without a pretty horrid pain like a ripped internal muscle.
So long story blabbing but has anyone here had anything similar or had gallatone or pancreas pain? I'd like to go well informed for my appt as I've a feeling this is what's wrong.
Oh and I'm self medicating with a clean diet and water. Not fussed about rich food or alcohol, just want to get rid of this pain.

I had horrendous gall stones and the pain at times was unbearable. The only thing I can say other than get it checked thoroughly in case you need surgery, which can be urgent if there are complete blockages as I had.
To relieve the pain try to sit with your knees hip width apart and rest your elbows on your knees. Leaning forward like this takes the pressure off and eases the pain.
I cannot course only give my experience and based on your comments i can't direct you toward specific information online unfortunately because you have no diagnosis and Dr Google is way too dangerous at this point.
Hi sometimes it is hard to verbally communicate pain either precise location or severity to the health professional but don't worry and relax, they can do tests and ask questions to learn more, trust that they will get to discover what the problem is. Good luck for your forthcoming gastroenterologist appointment.
