I went in for liver biopsy two days a go all went well only slight discomfort for a few hours given paracetamol then sent home, but I was given no after care advice at all, do I change dressing , can I have a shower, do I need to rest as I feel fine, can I lift heavy things and do I contact my Gp for results or do they contact me ,

Hi freckles16, I had a liver biopsy and was given a care sheet for afterwards, so basically it said take it easy for 48 hrs, no heavy lifting, keeps the dressing intact for 24 hrs and then wash as normal, the results are sent to the referring doctor which in my case was my consultant but I'm sure they are also sent to your gp, take care hope everything is ok xx

Thank you, that helps not nice thinking I might do some damage only hurts if I bend over, so now just a waiting game.
