I guess that is going to be a repeated problem - if others don't know you are at risk then they can be bringing all sorts of lurgies your way. It's only a condition I heard about recently when someone on the AIH page (and is therefore immune suppressed) had contact with it.
Information about Hand, Foot and Mouth for those that don't know about it is available at:- nhs.uk/Conditions/Hand-foot...
Thanks for the link! I have never heard of this....ever! As I have HH (Hereditary Haemochromatosis) & cirrhosis (liver) I am quite concerned as to whether this Hand, Foot & Mouth condition is something that is a problem in the UK at the moment? I hope I don't sound igno rant but there hasn't been any publicity regarding it as far as I'm aware.
Hand , foot and mouth has been around for years. Often you see outbreaks in crops in child orientated areas, e.g. Nurseries. It is not classified as a major illness , but a mild virus. Many people would not in truth know they had it until the rash appears around the mouth or cheeks , and then its still not often obvious.
I have managed not to be at my office for the past few days, I am at another office. It's quite contagious, especially with young children at nursery....symptoms of feeling unwell, blisters on hands foot and mouth, but I am clear. I hope she feels better too.
