So who else has been following the story line of Phil Mitchell on Eastenders? Now before we get into a heated debate about the way that things are being portrayed or the acting..(lack of maybe) lets just take it for the awareness that is raising.
However, I have to admit that I was VERY jealous when Phil got his 'call', although I went on to feel sorry for him that his liver wasn't a match!
Anyway, I hope your all prepping well for Christmas.
Have a good day & keep smiling.

Last nights episode bought back some very real memories to me. The guy seeming to be as poorly as I was when I got my call, although I was lucky enough (thanks to my wonderful donor) to find a match first time.
I think that reality may begin to wobble a bit when he will reportedly get his match at xmas/new year from one of the two annoying blonde girls (his sisters?) who are supposed to be getting killed off.
Last nights episode was realistic to me. I took the call in July & just like Sharon I had to run to the bedroom & wake up my partner who kept cool whilst I went to pieces. Luckily we had a match first time & doing really well so far.
That's excellent news and that the portrayal was similar. I know the story was quite off in the beginning. But they seem to be getting it right now. I'm pleased to hear your other half is getting well again!
oh crikey what am i missing ,,,sadly i dont watch TV,,but i have watched a few Eastenders in the passed,,,,im glad a story line like this being portrayed,,and i know ill be forced to watch it xmas day along with Dr Who,,,,,they must be doing a good job if its opening up some memories for you all,,,,anyway i went for an ultrasound yesterday a very long wait indeed was knackered when i got home ,,,,it was a thorough job ,,had 2 lovely staff take care of me which put me at ease....25 mins later job done ,,,a couple of gall stones,,they dont affect me ,,,minimal fluid as diuretics are doing there job ,,,,spleen slightly enlarged but within normal range,,liver still the same still working enough,,,,,kidneys totally fine ,,anyway you all take care especially you Chelle hope your getting that sleep you need,,,,all the best Matthew
Yes, credit where credits due. The story arch did start off quite poor in my opinion, with the typical drunk needing a liver transplant stereo type stuff. Then there was the nonsense about his son being a donor for a bit. At that point I was thinking it was raising the wrong kind of awareness.
I didn't see last nights but I understand he's been dry for at least the required 6 months has struggled with the idea of donors and limited organs. And nice to hear that they are showing a more realistic approach where not all organs are good enough quality and therefore false alarms.
Yes, I am pleased its more realistic, unlike when folks found out they were pregnant on a Monday episode and then had baby on the Friday episode...lol...
Hope your well; Merry Christmas x
Hi Chelle
Your post made me laugh....poor Phil ....on a serious note I hope you get your call very soon and everything goes smoothly ☎️ Xx
Surprised how relatively realistic they are making the storyline. Thought they showed Phil's disinterest in everything incl. Xmas reflected they way I was starting to feel pre TP. I was lucky to have had only one false alarm, & got another call 2 days later which went ahead. Still if they showed Phil in an ambulance on the wrong side of the road in rush hour traffic through Knightsbridge, like I had, no-one would believe it!!
apparently one of the cousins dies and he gets her liver....were see what happens...so long as he doesn't do a George Best and revert back to drinking; that would be sad.
iv not watched that episode yet. i can imagine that it must be very hard not to feel jealous chelle. i pray your time comes soon. your very honest . xoxoxo love grace xoxo
I love the raising of awareness and the one where he got the call was the most realistic of them all (even though I was a complete mess when I got told, never cried so much in my life lol) . But even my friends and family have commented on the fact that they haven't shown any of the complications of living with cirrhosis and with me only having recently I actually had someone say to me it doesn't look that bad what you went through before transplant, but that's morons for you and a lot of them watch soaps, I think if people actually found out and could see what we suffer /suffered with we would have a lot more people signing the register. Hope you get your call as quickly hunni x
Thank you. I have to be honest and say I'm not suffering a lot yet. I have minimal HE, dull ache in my tummy all the time, with sharp pains at times, it's my right shoulder that causes me the most pain. I don't lift my shoulder if I can help it. it burns with pain...anyway enough of that..
you're so right - we made it across north London from Leyton to the Royal Free (same hospital as in Eastenders) in just 15 minutes instead of an hour. Blue lights and sirens, traffic parting like the Red sea, like you, wrong side of the road. Couldn't help but enjoy it.
I was surprised they drove themselves in the soap.
My liver was perfect. Unlike in the soap my bloods had been done a few days earlier so I never saw a bed, straight onto a trolley and into theatre.
good luck 🍀 still looking to see if you have had the call. I had to get there myself wasn't really rushed. Merry Christmas 🎄 and Hope 2017 is your year xx🙏🏻
Merry Christmas back to you, I don't think my call is going to come for a while, But i'll let you all know when it does. every day I don't get a call moves me closer to the day it comes x
