Has anyone else been listening to these interviews. They're a bit off topic but very frank interview's. I think great to listen to for anyone negotiating a serious illness on the NHS.

Yes I have and very good they are too. People like that can save peoples lives by making people more aware of early symptoms- quite selfless really like a lot of contributors on this forum.
I think the episode below is extremely good. It reinforces my belief that if you're able, you must do some research yourself and push back against the professionals when you question any treatment or lack of.
Knowledge you can get from forums like this can give you the tools to question professionals and it's not unlikely that your knowledge is taken into consideration. It's happened to me on more than one occasion, worrying but absolutely necessary!
Thank you Rodeo, Always find your asides very interesting, please keep it up. Watched all the surrounding documentaries following "Worlds first heartless man". anne.
Yes there's a wealth of stuff out there on the Internet. Most of it rubbish but some of real interest.
A massive thank you coming your way once again. It may be " Off Topic" to some (I cannot grasp why people continue to read posts that don,t interest them instead of scrolling on past) but I played the Pod cast to my neighbour who, as it happens was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus 6 months ago. He has been through the mill as far as chemo goes and been told there is nothing more can be done. Bless him, it,s really terrible watching him go through losing the ability to eat and now the loss of his voice a side effect of treatment that they knew about but failed to warn Len would happen. He just woke up one morning and couldn,t talk anymore, he is devastated to say the least. Well, both he and his wife have said they only wish they had known about early warning signs (which he had) and information such as treatment at other hospitals. Maybe things could have been different, his wife certainly believes he would have had longer. (he,s been told he,ll be lucky to see Christmas). Some good news, Jenny (lens wife) has passed the information along to a work friend who has a relative in a similar position, though not yet begun chemo. She intends to fully explore all the options which this "Off Topic" has brought to light. In her words, "it feels as if we,ve been thrown a lifeline". Just goes to show. Thanks again, from the neighbour, her friend at work and myself!. Look forward to your next aside. cheers anne.
