Recent blood tests following weight loss and moderate exercise. All in normal range ALT down from 59 to 39 (20-40), ALP 182 so slightly down on last test (40-140). Last US showed fatty liver but raised area of concern. : -( Does anyone know where I could a fibroscan in the north west?

Great news, all going in the right direction.
Sorry I don't know of where you might get a US in North West. I suppose the hospitals in Manchester / Liverpool have them and you might be able to go private to one of them or ask for a referral by doctor. I take it they are planning to give you another ultrasound down the line to check for any changes .......... should be 6 monthly if they said there was some cirrhosis.
Keep up the good work and that fatty liver should show signs of improvement.
All the best, Katie xx
Thanks Katie. I am looking to have a fibroscan. I might be in denial but I really dislike that word cirrohis. I'm STILL waiting to see the consultant. What intrigues me is that my GP(s) present and past, would not bat an eyelid at my current test results or my previous results (since 2012). And here's the irony. One GP said, we can't refer you for scans every six months because the NHS would collapse! I don't think I need to spell out the absurdity of this statement. Still extremely worried, still waiting.
Hi, i am afraid i don't know; can you not ask your GP for a referral to a Hospital that has a fibroscan? I notice some people may have had one done privately; is this really necessary? I mean is there such a shortage of fibroscan machines or something in certain areas??
I don't know Susieanna, I am just out of my mind with worry. Waited nearly 2mths. It's not that I support private healthcare. I am unhappy with the level of GP care and just plain scared.
Shrimpette,
Manchester Royal Infirmary and The Royal Liverpool University Hospital has fibroscans. Your GP can refer you,
Best Wishes,
Rebecca
Many thanks Rebecca
