Looking for more info on MELD score

Hi I was hoping to get some more info on MELD scores and what they mean. Thanks! Any info would be great!

Information about the Model for End-Stage liver disease (MELD) score system including the calculation sum and score interpretation detailed at :- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model...

However, it is important to know that liver disease fluctuates so much from individual to individual so it is not a definite guide to how long someone will live etc.

In the UK the system used is normally the UKELD (United Kingdom Model for End-Stage Liver Disease) and again the WIKI page is attached. With UKELD a score of 49 is considered the minimum required for placement on the liver transplant list - although people with different liver conditions (particularly liver cancer might be listed even if they don't meet the UKELD criteria).

Hope those links explain it a bit. Hubby and I have never been told what he 'scores' on any chart and sometimes I guess it's actually better that way because some of these scoring systems would scare the wits out of you for no reason.
