Information on intensive drug therapy for cirrhosis

Hi does any one know any thing about EGT, it's an intensive drug therapy. My step son has jaundice and cirrhosis of the liver and they are trying this therapy before a 2nd liver transplant. I wasn't there when doctor gave him the information and I can't find anything on line. Thank you
