That looks really sore and just a tad yucky. I've just typed bacterial skin lesions with hepatitis C into search bar and it does bring up many pages which detail various skin lesions which manifest themselves due to Hep C though as a none expert I wouldn't go guessing what was what - some even yuckier pictures than yours show up too. ;)

Have you been referred to a Dematologist? This needs a professional's opinion since your immune system is busy with the Hep C and affected by cirrhosis.

As I say I am no expert but you do need an expert to look into this.

Thanks Katie I have an appointment in Feb with a Dermatologist. .I searched images but saw nothing that could pin point hep c related..was told it's not dermatitis then told it was venous related..then told none of either as blood flow usually start lower down..maybe been bitten by something..but both legs were the same..there was no itch just a burning acid kind of pain..just have to wait and see what they thought it might have been.

Yes I'm covered in lesions that are extremely itchy and painful. Yours looks bad. Have you gone to a dermatologist who knows about hep-c and skin infections? I have them in my mouth down my esophougous, wrists, ankles and the bottom of my feet. They inject cortisone underneath the lesions and I have been on antibiotics for months. I have seven more months to go for the oral antibiotics to see if they can get rid of them. If not I will have a surgical port put in for IV antibiotics to be administered. Not only that I have had severe cellulitis which cause me to be admired in hospital. No topical cream works for me. Make sure your heapatologist refers you as some regular dermatologist don't know what to do!!!

ok, wow..i had this, but on a lesser, much lesser level..it was on the back of my knee.

Dry skin, etc. is VERY normal.

I was told that our liver disease will suck all the moisture right out of our skin. My legs are ruined forever..they were perfect, no scarring etc..no longer..I got dry skin, flaky patches, etc.

My doctor prescribed a skin lotion..its wonderful and works. I deep clean my skin and over moisturize.

Since my transplant things are WAYYY better..that area on the back on my leg as all but disappeared..I hope this helps..but yes, that looks bad, like its bordering on infection..you poor thing!

thinking a good thought for you!
