Sorry to hear your husbands diagnosis horsey. I think it unlikely that liver patients (this is the liver forum) will also have throat or bowel cancer. Is there another cancer forum on Health Unlocked that would help?

Hi Horsey, I had bowel cancer in 2003. The chemo drugs I was given damaged my liver, now I'm on the List awaiting a transplant. Sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis, hope there is some treatment planned for him.

Dear Horsey,

Sorry to hear about your husbands diagnosis. Have they confirmed the primary source, is it throat cancer with metastases in the bowel or the other way round? This will effect the choice of treatment he is given and also the forum that you will be able to get the best information and support from. All types of cancer can cause blood changes including thickening, clots etc.. so DVT could be from this. I would concentrate on a primary diagnosis for treatment plan & support. The risk of further DVT will be managed within that plan.

Take care of you & yours
