IgA with anti smooth muscle antibodies

whenever I've looked for ASM positive info it seems that there is a supposition that IgG is also raised, if it isn't and IgA is what would that mean?

I was recently treated for a helicobactor pylori infection would that sort it?

Had lots of scans which say liver looks ok, hepaologist says fatty liver, but in pain everyday.

Anyone had similar?

Good Morning,

It is normal for your IgG, IgM and IgA to be increased if your ASM is increased. They are all markers within your immunoglobulin (part of your body’s defence system, also known as your immune system). They indicate long term infection.

If you are concerned about any of your blood results you should discuss these with your GP or Specialist. Have you been diagnosed with a liver condition? If not I would suggest asking you GP to do some further tests.

I hope this helps

Thank you Sandy, I will ask for the bloods to be done again I think as with any luck if the H Pylori has been eradicated then the levels should be ok? Would you think it beneficial to ask for ALP and GGT too with any LFTs?
