Specialist says I might have AMA negative PBC, what is this please. ?

Iv just had more blood tests and a CT scan yesterday, get results in April, told might need liver biopsy?

How can I help myself, what foods should I eat or not eat?

Iv never smoked or had alchahol!

My weight has yoyo'd for 50 years up and down in few stone at a time!

I get bad itching on arms, lost strength in my hands and tired!

You have Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. Don't worry about the AMA part, that's just a medspeak for the diagnosis. Here is a link to the British Liver Trust information about PBC.

There is a section on 'looking after yourself' and diet within it.

The itching is a symptom and there is medication to help with that. Ask your liver specialist about it.
