Look what I found on my run today :)

It rained yesterday, not much, just enough to keep me indoors.

This morning it was cool but sunny. I decided on an interval run, NRC's 'In Control'. 28 minutes, starting quick, at Mile Pace, then longer intervals at 5k, 10k and Easy Pace. Perfect, get the speedy bit done while I'm feeling fresh and sparky.

The guided run was pretty good, had to make an effort to slow down after the first interval (that was the whole point).

When I ran the other day my water bottle fell out of my belt so I took a little detour to look for it. I don't like leaving litter. As I plodded on I scanned the path ahead and the verges for a flash of blue plastic, and wonder of wonders I spotted my bottle among some long grass in the middle of the path not far from where I noticed it was missing!! :) Fantastic :)

When the guided run ended I was around 1km from home so carried on at a gentle jog, then, once I was done I pressed stop. Checked the app a few minutes later, it still had the icon of a spinning wheel. Tried closing the app. Reopened it. Same thing. Restarted the phone. Still going. Left it an hour. Still going. Went shopping. Finally it had stopped. Apparently I covered 1.8km in 6.06 HOURS.

I know I like a slow run but this is maybe a bit much 😂

PS any suggestions for sanitising a flexible water bottle that's been sitting on a footpath for 3 days or am I just being picky?

I had one of those runs that wouldn't save on the app once. Weak bleach, not sure now of the ratio but very weak bleach and that'll kill off any bugs lurking, then a good rinse in warm soapy water followed by fresh cold water. Might smell very lightly of bleach first few uses though

Better than what it might smell of otherwise!!!!

Very true, and Milton is bleach too so either works

Wash with slightly soapy warm water first. Rinse.

Then definitely sterilising solution inside. Don't leave it in longer than the instructions suggest, otherwise it'll start attacking the plastic. Thoroughly rinse with cold water.

You could dry it by freezing and then removing the frozen droplets or by stuffing some kitchen roll in it and letting it air dry.

Wow-that is an amazing pace for your cool down run! 🤣

I’ve had that happen before except mine ran for four days and used all my mobile data. Luckily it’s been behaving better since the uninstall/reinstall a couple of weeks ago,

Great run and extra good news on the bottle turning up! The weather being a bit cooler makes such a difference doesn’t it!

Not only was my run time 6+ hours, apparently my pace on the first interval (Mile pace) was 1:16/km - Olympic selectors, I'm free at the end of the month 😂😂😂

Loving the cooler weather too :)

Put it through the dishwasher, if you have one.

I'm a bit wary of this because of the heat, have you tried it?

Yes, and mine was fine. Obviously it's at your own risk as I don't know the age of your flask, nor the products or dishwasher cycle you use.

Thanks! It's from Decathlon. May do this if I don't get round to buying the sterilising stuff.

Definitely not in the bottom drawer of a dishwasher as that area tends to be too hot for plastics, and you'd need some means of keeping the bladder open so the caustic cleaning water could enter it.

Aren't you taking the 'slow and steady' mantra to the extreme?? If only you had continued to 7 hours you might have hit that 2K mark.

LOLOL!!

So glad you found your bottle...

2K? That's a bit ambitious!!!

I had one of those runs on holiday. My phone/watch told me I'd done 67.9k in 20 minutes 🤣 I am definitely not that fast 🤣🤣😍🤣

That only happens to me when I forget to stop the run and then go for a drive!!
