I'm really enjoying the Topo brand. My new road shoes are like slippers, zero drop but super soft. Barefoot but with bells on ๐๐ป๐
Thatโs good to know. Iโve been tempted by the Topo ST 4 for a run around shoe. Still think itโs too minimal for me for all the mileage I do on concrete. What runs do you use it for? Max distance etc?
I found this yesterday following a rabbit hole of links originating on healthunlocked.com ๐คฃ it suggests barefoot running on concrete is good, whereas I have only used mine off road. youtu.be/bRDvPwXRHmQ
I'm fine running barefoot on concrete. The paving slabs round here are mostly concrete. What does get me is high friction road surfaces. They're really hard going on the soles. Standard "hot rolled" black tarmac is great to run on, but possibly not the best in the afternoon on a hot day.
Yes, this whole conversation is really intriguing. Same channel is this video explaining forefoot strike pinky side first!
I've only used these on short 5k runs so far but I've got their trail shoes and happily put 200+ miles on those. I need to check max distance in those but def 10 miles, just checked, only 10 but have worn for over 3hrs on walks too.
Thanks for sharing nowster
Finding the right minimal shoe has been expensive for me. My Xero shoes I bought were far too narrow in the toe box once I got my correct toes foot spacers. They work great in all my Altraโs but theyโre certainly not minimal. Love my earth runner sandals! My vibrams embarrass my boys at the school gate ๐คฃ
I'm in Vibrams most of the time nowadays. I have added some slightly oversized Vivobarefoots to my collection, but may keep them for walking in the wet.
And it's your duty to embarrass the kids from time to time. ๐
