Hi folks just wondering if anybody else has had issues with the distance recorded when using the NRC guided runs? Last week decided to use 10k guided run and when I had only ran 0.6 of a mile it was saying I had done further and the difference steadily increased, so I stopped the guidance. I hadn't had my location enabled in the app so thought this was the possible cause. However this morning tried the guided run and yet again the distance was out, telling me I had done a mile when I was only at 0.8 on my Garmin. I did a guided 5k a couple of weeks ago without issue. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks
NRC - Distance : Hi folks just wondering if... - Bridge to 10K
NRC - Distance
I've been using NRC for nearly a year now, the only issue I have is that it always records my Parkrun as 4.88 km so I have to run a little bit extra.Until today. I set it for an 8km run and it kept pausing the run and then restarting. OK, I wasn't going to break any speed records today but I wasn't going that slow. In the end I had to turn it off, continually hearing 'workout paused'....'workout resumed' was doing my head in.
I've never double checked the guided run distances.
It can be frustrating when it does the auto stop/start. I stopped the guidance today as soon as I spotted it wasn't accurate. Mind if I hadn't had my garmin on I would have thought I'd turned into an athlete overnight with such an improved pace!
I often find NRC and Garmin disagree on distance and the amount seems to vary .It is rare for the 2 to agree.
I usually carry on to complete the distance on Garmin .
One thing worth looking at in NRC Settings is that the app is set to 'Outdoor' not 'Indoor'
I use Garmin and Strava which are similar and when I run a NRC guided run it is about the same so no problems here
I always get a discrepancy between NRC and Garmin when I'm just tracking and with distance-based guided runs. The longer the run, the greater the discrepancy. It also seems affected by the route that I take, I don't know if it's related to GPS signals but it's quite annoying. All my settings are as they should be but it doesn't make any difference 🤷♀️I still use both but I know that when NRC calls whatever distance I'll have to carry on running until Garmin tells me I'm there.
