There's only one word for the weather here at the moment - grim. It's not sunny, windy, snowy or rainy, it's just grim. Grey skies and drizzle. The mornings are dark and it never seems to brighten up, such a disincentive to getting out and running.
This morning I decided I had to ignore it. Husband put the lead on the dog, who is rarely walked and has no idea how to behave, and then we set off. I did NRC's Triple 7's (not sure about the apostrophe but they put it there so it's not my fault). This meant I could run off on my own for a while but come back to dog and husband from time to time so they knew where I was.
The run is 3x7 minute intervals at 5k pace with 2 1/2 minute recovery. It's funny how when I run 5k I don't really think about my 5k pace but on intervals/fartleks if the coach says '5k pace' I have to really concentrate.
Ran through the wood and back to the stadium then round again a couple of times and the run was done. By now I hardly noticed the cloud, just enjoyed that 'I just overcame all the lethargy and did it' feeling. The dog seemed happy too
