Hi I run to get fitter, I garden for approx 3 hours a day it’s generally not heavy work so does get my heart rate up
I wonder if anyone could refer me to a link or briefly explain how to improve a heart rate please?
I wear an Apple Watch & have Apple phone.
I don’t want to be too ott re monitoring my heart rate but just wondered if I should be bringing it down as it gets to 140-160 whilst I run? How? & why? I’m thinking if I bring it down when I’m running how will I get fit? I can’t go much slower!
My resting heart rate was around 60-70 most days but has been 70-80 for the past 8 weeks
Hope this makes sense ? I’ve tried googling for info but can’t find the answers
Thank you

I got a bit bothered that my HR was too high. I read somewhere that women's HRs tend to be higher and that the monitoring devices are inaccurate. So I stopped obsessing and concentrated on feeling comfortable as I ran. I also made a concerted effort to slow down. Now, instead of being in zone 5 for the whole run its only goes there if I'm tired at the end of the run and/or consciously pushing myself.
