New shoe alert: Hoka Arahi 5’s - “Time to fly!”🙂✨👟✨

Well, we’ll see about the ‘flying’ bit 🤣 but these really are the comfiest running shoes I have ever had out of the box! I’m a big Hoka fan and owe a lot to my Arahi 4’s which I am convinced are magic shoes 🪄👟✨ (for me, anyway!) 🤣 Also, being tall, I have discovered over the years, that a men’s size 8 fits me better than a woman’s size 8!🤷‍♀️

I wasn’t sure when I first saw the slightly tweaked Arahi 5s but given that I am now struggling to find the older model in my size, I thought I would bite the bullet and order a pair. Oh my goodness, it feels like putting on a slipper! In the Arahi, Hoka have somehow managed to develop a stability shoe which isn’t too rigid and which has the cushioning without losing the responsiveness. At 5mm they are considered low drop but this seems to suit me well.

I think Hoka are very much a marmite brand - you love them or hate them. I, as you can probably tell, am very firmly in the former!❤️👟

Can’t wait to take them out for a test run tomorrow!🙂🏃‍♀️🤞

A fellow fan! I received my Ahari 5s two weeks ago and apart from trying them on and catwalking (🤣🤣) around the living room, they’ve gone back in the box until a 10km hard town run in September. I’ve still got a couple of hundred miles left in my present A4s.

A word of advice for other fans: shop around. Buying direct means full price.

Happy new shoes Sandra! I tried Hokas a few years ago but didn’t like the rocking horse sole. My running shop said it was a marmite shoe too. I know there Are lots of fans on HU.

Ooh nice! I've got the 4 in a men's size 8 (I'm normally a 6). I normally wear Brooks Adrenaline, but I love my Arahi's for a change - they feel so different!

Local sports shop chain had Hoka in the sale with 30%-40% off. Tried on various pairs, loved the comfort, but the fit was wrong for my feet - not enough forefoot volume.

My Arahi’s worked wonders for my runner’s knee/plica. I completely trashed that pair (my running shop owner’s words) hurtling down steep hills which are surfaced with very sharp rocks…not something they were designed for. As part of my casting around for ways of breaking my 6 months cycle of injuries I bought a pair of Brooks Adrenaline, and they are working very well. They took a bit of getting used to, with a higher heel drop, but the cushioning is good. Anyway, many happy miles or k’s in your new shoes Sandraj39. They really helped me sort out my knee issues. 🙂

I have tried the Brooks Adrenaline - a really popular shoe but they didn’t suit me. I’ll stick with heat I know works!🙂

It took me weeks to run in the Brooks. I really made the change because of a touch of achilles trouble at the point at which I needed to buy new shoes. I thought that the low heel drop might not be helping. Who knows? Arahis were brilliant for 8 months.

I have big feet (women's 9/43) and struggle with trainers - always had to buy mens versions. But I took a chance bought Hoka size10.5. Love them, so comfy and bouncy.
