Hi everyone, my name is Julia and I'm running the Bridge to 10K programme following Ju-Ju's Magic Plan (distance edition). I've decided to log my progress during the course of the programme and I'm hoping to provide a motivating read for the other members of this community. I do all my runs on a treadmill and I use a neat little game called Zwift to supplement my training.

Bridge to 10K Week 2 Day 1

Today's been a dreadfully hot day and I haven't been feeling too well despite keeping myself hydrated. Thankfully, today's run was a short one. Before the run, I cooled myself down by consuming a pint of cold water with some ice cubes in it. Refreshing! I also topped up on electrolytes with some salted pistachios. I don't know how I've managed to avoid tasting pistachios for so long, but now that I've done so, I know I've been missing out!

I planned to join a Pace Partner bot running at a steady 9 km/h on Zwift again. However, I turned the run into an impromptu sprint challenge as I first dropped my phone and had to stop to grab it off the floor. Then, I managed to hit the U turn button on Zwift and started running away from the bot!

I swiftly hit the U turn again, put my treadmill on 10 km/h and sprinted to catch the bot! I'm sure the other fellow following the bot was quite confused as my avatar suddenly decided to naff off and then appeared from behind with great speed. I finished the run with a quick 11 km/h sprint. I'm quite happy I managed to keep the entire run at a faster pace compared to my usual 5K pace: 8 km/h.

Thankfully the weather is cooling down again, I'm ready for W2D2's 5K!
