Big shout out for all the other VV10k runners who have either already completed their run πŸ™Œ or are running it in the next couple of days!πŸ‘πŸ‘

My running pattern has been a bit all over the place recently but I seem to be back to my 3 regular runs a week.πŸ‘ Looking at my Garmin however, I realised I haven’t done a 10K for a few weeks!😯😞 My last run (5K) was earlier in the day than I am used to ( to beat the heat) and a couple of days after my second jab and just felt like a hard slog all the way round, so I was hoping for a better run today!🀞

Happy to see that today was forecast to be cooler than of late - but there was sadly no getting away from the rain that was forecast either!🌧😬 Yes, it accompanied me throughout the entire run but I have to say was actually very refreshing and not as heavy as it is now, looking out of my window!!

The run itself was a steady one and I chose the local residential roads rather than my more usual trails...I think I needed a confidence booster today and nothing too challenging!πŸ˜‚

So, my time won’t be breaking any records but I did enjoy this run. More importantly (and as happens so often), running delivers where we really need it: I finished this run with a greater belief in myself than I had at the beginning. Running restores something very fundamental to my mental well-being, as I’m sure it does for so many of us. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒπŸ½πŸƒβ€β™€οΈThat’s worth remembering every time I step out the door - with or without my running shoes on!

Oh, and the cherry on the cake is that I can now wait for my medal to arrive!πŸ˜€πŸ…

Happy running!πŸ™‚

Well done Sandraj39 πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘ I’ll be walking rather than running this time due to injuryπŸ™ I’ve got a virtual physio session booked next Weds. It’ll be interesting to see how that works out πŸ™‚ but I’m sure it will be fine as they’ve been recommended but some running friendsπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ You never know, I meet be out running again soonπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ€žIn the meantime I’m think about buying a pushbike 🚲 so I can at least get some miles in for my Route 66 challengeπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Hope all goes well with the physio David - a recommendation from a running friend is a good thing though, so 🀞 for you.Not heard of the Route 66 Challenge - what’s that one?

It’s to run/walk/cycle the length of Route 66 (2,278 miles!). It started on 1 January and I’ve got 2 years to complete itπŸ™‚πŸ‘ It’s very well organised and the details are on endtoend.run. They do a number of challenges and are great for motivation!

Good luck with physio and with VV10. I was worried I'd feel a fraud just walking it today but in the end I found that it was more of a challenge than when I ran the previous one last October! I've also been told to cycle by the osteopath - so have found a 15km loop from home and aim to do it 3-5 times each week. But its NOT a patch on running! πŸ™πŸ™

There's nothing wrong at all with a 64 minute 10km run. It's a decent time. πŸ‘

Thank youπŸ™ - I know that really nowster but I would love to get back closer to 1 hour - I’ve not run under that since a bout of sciatica damaged a nerve in my leg a couple of years ago. It’s just me being a bit hard on myself...not Pb’d in a long time and I know that it doesn’t really matter but...!πŸ™‚

Congratulations Sandraj39! Fantastic time ! That’s a decent time! Now look forward to your well deserved medal !πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈx

Hey!! Well done. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽ‰Great that you enjoyed it and that it made you feel good felt good.. Great time too (I'd love to run at that pace - or run at all to be honest!).

I did my VV10 today too but walked it with my faithful whippet - who was majorly shocked that we kept going and going well beyond her usual walkies and with no stops to play either!🀣🀣🀣 and in the drizzle too!!🀣🀣 But we got there in there end!.

Lovely run Sandra! I can only dream of that pace. πŸ˜… Well done. πŸŽ‰

Shame that it rained for you, but at least you didn’t overheat, and I bet it felt great.

I did my VV10000 on Monday, not really intending on doing so. I’d had my 2nd jab on Saturday and wasn’t sure how I’d feel so I went out for a test run and ending up keeping going! The beauty of running is that we can make it our own. πŸ₯°

Like you, I’m looking forward to receiving my precious bling. πŸ…πŸ˜€

Thanks Cheeky - tbh I think I prefer rain to the heat!πŸ₯΅ Well done on your VV run too - and good to be double jabbed isn’t it?πŸ’‰πŸ’‰πŸ˜€

I much prefer rain to heat too, although not necessarily lashing sideways winter kind of rain with hooley wind!

Yes, it does feel awesome to be double jabbed. πŸ‘ŠπŸ₯°
