Big shout out for all the other VV10k runners who have either already completed their run π or are running it in the next couple of days!ππ
My running pattern has been a bit all over the place recently but I seem to be back to my 3 regular runs a week.π Looking at my Garmin however, I realised I havenβt done a 10K for a few weeks!π―π My last run (5K) was earlier in the day than I am used to ( to beat the heat) and a couple of days after my second jab and just felt like a hard slog all the way round, so I was hoping for a better run today!π€
Happy to see that today was forecast to be cooler than of late - but there was sadly no getting away from the rain that was forecast either!π§π¬ Yes, it accompanied me throughout the entire run but I have to say was actually very refreshing and not as heavy as it is now, looking out of my window!!
The run itself was a steady one and I chose the local residential roads rather than my more usual trails...I think I needed a confidence booster today and nothing too challenging!π
So, my time wonβt be breaking any records but I did enjoy this run. More importantly (and as happens so often), running delivers where we really need it: I finished this run with a greater belief in myself than I had at the beginning. Running restores something very fundamental to my mental well-being, as Iβm sure it does for so many of us. πββοΈπββοΈππ½πββοΈThatβs worth remembering every time I step out the door - with or without my running shoes on!
Oh, and the cherry on the cake is that I can now wait for my medal to arrive!ππ
Happy running!π

Well done Sandraj39 ππ»You broke my 10k record. Always running for my mental health. Forever thankful for C25K for discovering that β€οΈπββοΈ
Well done Sandraj39 πββοΈπ Iβll be walking rather than running this time due to injuryπ Iβve got a virtual physio session booked next Weds. Itβll be interesting to see how that works out π but Iβm sure it will be fine as theyβve been recommended but some running friendsπββοΈπββοΈ You never know, I meet be out running again soonπββοΈπ€In the meantime Iβm think about buying a pushbike π² so I can at least get some miles in for my Route 66 challengeπΊπΈ
Hope all goes well with the physio David - a recommendation from a running friend is a good thing though, so π€ for you.Not heard of the Route 66 Challenge - whatβs that one?
Itβs to run/walk/cycle the length of Route 66 (2,278 miles!). It started on 1 January and Iβve got 2 years to complete itππ Itβs very well organised and the details are on endtoend.run. They do a number of challenges and are great for motivation!
Good luck with physio and with VV10. I was worried I'd feel a fraud just walking it today but in the end I found that it was more of a challenge than when I ran the previous one last October! I've also been told to cycle by the osteopath - so have found a 15km loop from home and aim to do it 3-5 times each week. But its NOT a patch on running! ππ
Thank youπ - I know that really nowster but I would love to get back closer to 1 hour - Iβve not run under that since a bout of sciatica damaged a nerve in my leg a couple of years ago. Itβs just me being a bit hard on myself...not Pbβd in a long time and I know that it doesnβt really matter but...!π
Congratulations Sandraj39! Fantastic time ! Thatβs a decent time! Now look forward to your well deserved medal !ππππππββοΈπββοΈx
Hey!! Well done. ππππGreat that you enjoyed it and that it made you feel good felt good.. Great time too (I'd love to run at that pace - or run at all to be honest!).
I did my VV10 today too but walked it with my faithful whippet - who was majorly shocked that we kept going and going well beyond her usual walkies and with no stops to play either!π€£π€£π€£ and in the drizzle too!!π€£π€£ But we got there in there end!.
Lovely run Sandra! I can only dream of that pace. π Well done. π
Shame that it rained for you, but at least you didnβt overheat, and I bet it felt great.
I did my VV10000 on Monday, not really intending on doing so. Iβd had my 2nd jab on Saturday and wasnβt sure how Iβd feel so I went out for a test run and ending up keeping going! The beauty of running is that we can make it our own. π₯°
Like you, Iβm looking forward to receiving my precious bling. π π
