What a difference a day makes ! 😐

Well, today was a rather chilly 3.5K, I was undecided what to wear but went for shorts and a long sleeve running top .

It was certainly chilly on my warm up walk !

Luckily I soon warned up at around 1k

No problem from the hip so far today but I didn't want to push it having also been for a bike ride yesterday .

I actually think it's a bit of arthritis, I do have one or two issues with it , first diagnosed in my neck in my early 40's but it's never really bothered me that much .

Also have quite a weak lower back from straining it many years ago trying to stop my mum from falling over 😐

So any niggles on a run are difficult to determine the cause .

I actually messaged my physio yesterday and he suggested I come and see him but it won't be for at least a couple of weeks as he is so busy !

What he did say to me was don't stop running ! Just keep the mileage down , so that's what I'm doing .

Incidentally, he is an extreme marathon runner, so knows a thing or two about running ! 🀣

Quite frustrating though as I'd like to increase the distances again , but I don't want to end up on the IC.

Ahh well, 😐

Right cup of tea time ! 😁

Now that is handy, having a physio who is a runner! He'll give sound advice on what to do and not do, while I do think physios who don't run will more quickly say to stop running altogether.

Is it arthritis as in ReumatoΓ―d Arthritis (what I have and what can be held back with the right meds) or Osteoarthritis (what my mother has and for which nothing can be done)? If it's what I have, do check out a specialist, I have no flare-ups anymore nor pains thanks to the right meds.

G'luck on keeping the mileage down!

It's actually osteo , But I'm only guessing that's what my niggles are !

As it happens I have just made the appointment with the physio for next Tuesday πŸ‘

Well done for taking it steady, Ian - at least until you hear what the physio is going to say on Tuesday. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Glad the hip is behaving for now, i think it was the longer distances that did mine πŸ€” actualy felt a little niggle in my other hip/groin on yesterdays run, did an 8k, which maybe after sundays 10k, was a bit much, it's frustrating, as i too, enjoy the longer distances! ☹

It's driving me mad at the moment !Was hoping to have done at least a couple of 10k's last month then work up to 10 miles .

Feel I'm going backwards at the moment 😐

Hello! It sounds as though you’re doing just the right thing for now, and it will be great to see the physio so he can set you on the right track. And great he’s a runner too so he’ll totally get it - he’s probably diagnosed himself a 100 times πŸ˜†. You’ll be back to longer runs in no time I’m sure. Having a cup of tea too here, although no run today, will save that until tomorrow. All the best! πŸ˜€πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜€πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Good luck with the physio appointment. The niggles must be really annoying. At least he didnt say to stop running - that's a big positive!
