Madness?

Yesterday I planned a route to include 6 of the hardest local hills. Then realised that two more could be added at a future date.

I set out this morning to attempt the six but after hill number 4, some madness talked me into including the extra two.

Well, after 10 gruelling miles and 277 metres elevation gains, that one’s in the bag but I think I’ll take two days off.

Where next?

Happy runnings everyone.

Wow most impressed with that and feeling relieved we live in a fairly flat area

Thank you. I hold it up there with my solo half marathon which was on the flat.

Some gentle walks for two days now. Mr Garmin won’t be happy, but it never ruddy is!!

18 months ago, I would have avoided hills like the plague. With lockdown last March I couldn’t avoid them if staying local, so I developed a series of strategies to deal with them. 😎

10 miles including hills 😳 well done, that’s really impressive, I think you’ve definitely earned those few days off.

Just seen your post HF and I'm in awe! In mid January I got over excited and overdid the uphills on my 11k run, elevation gain 131m, and I'm now nursing a niggly hip 😬 .10 miles of actual proper hills that you ran sounds like hard work! Well done for challenging yourself, completing the challenge and then some, and I think you earned a couple of days off 😁👍 did you make it out today?

Thank you Ly and wish your hip a good recovery. I did take two days off but found a new challenge for Saturday: our village shop has shut 🥲 so I put on my rucksack and ran to a petrol station to buy a newspaper. That turned out to be a 240 elevation gain over 13 km 🥴. It looked a lot easier on the ordnance survey map!
