45 Minute Run in Zone 3 πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ’¨

I know it’s good to mix up your runs, so today was my Zone 3 run. I thought 45 minutes would be good. Strava robbed me of a few seconds which is always annoying!

I checked the weather forecast this morning, as I hate running in the wind, 10kms it said. Note to self: wear your glasses when checking the weather forecast! Turns out that the 10kms was visibility, not the wind speed (which was 50kms) πŸ˜‚

Well, of course I realised something was amiss as soon as I left the house. I started running and the weather gremlin was there 😈 β€˜You don’t have to run in this! Go back home and have coffee’. I continued running mainly with a cross wind, down the lane, turn around and back into the village. He was back! 😈 β€˜You’ve done 2K, that’s enough!’ I carried on out of the village, towards the Deadend Track. There is a point on this route that is very exposed and I knew it was going to be tough. Oh yes, it was tough! I battled on until it became impossible and I had to turn round. Back into the village was easier for a while, then a crosswind again. I had to run past my house for the second time, because of the early turn around, but I wanted to run for 45 minutes.

It was so good to get back indoors again. Positives: I went out for a run in spite of the conditions and I achieved what I wanted to - a 45 minute slow run.

Success! πŸ’¨πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘πŸ₯£β˜•οΈ

What a brilliant resistance run, great for building stamina and you beat the weather. Well done. Happy running πŸ€—

Hi Jools it was just the same for me strong wind, managed 4K then went home. Did feel good that I had got out. πŸ’¨πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Well done Jools, you stuck with it, sounded very blowy out there 🀣 those gremlins arent going to stop you πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ and like you said, bet you were glad to get back indoors after that wind! 😊 i'm going out in a bit, will see how it goes, my daughter has mapped out a new 10k route, but 5k will bring us near home, if we stop, i think i've got a cold coming, very runny nose, since yesterday! 🀧

Thanks, Peter - yes, very blowy! Getting worse, I think. Oh no - a cold! Not what you want at all. Hope you manage to get out and it’s not so windy where you are. πŸ‘

Well done, especially in those weather conditions. Sounded like a tough run πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ you did it!

Thanks, Rebecca. It was tough; at one point I didn’t seem to be moving forward at all!

That must have taken a lot of energy and determination. Well done

Haha, no, I turned round at that point! πŸ˜‚

Well done on kicking those gremlins firmly into touch!

You were braver than I was venturing out in that wind - it's pretty exposed where you are too! πŸ’¨πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ You probably did more like 7 or 8k running into that 😁

Haha, I probably did! At one stage I didn’t seem to be going forward at all. It definitely wasn’t the most enjoyable of runs. Had I not misread the forecast, I would have stayed at home 😊

10/10 for determination and sticking to your plan πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜‚

Once I was out there, I thought I may as well stick to the plan! But it wasn’t fun at all.

I do like that you’re quite philosophical about your β€˜not fun’ runs πŸ‘πŸ˜‚

I used to get despondent over the.β€˜Not so good’ runs, but I know it won’t be long before I have another fabulous run! 😊

That’s a fierce wind, good that you beat those gremlins and i’m impressed you kept going,

Thank you! There was a point I had to turn round, but I did keep going for the 45 minutes I had planned. Very happy to get home out of the wind, though 😊

Yesterday evening as the tide was high we could hear the sea and that only happens when the waves are high? I wanted to go look but Willow sensibly talked me out of it

Probably safe to keep away unless you could have watched from a safe distance!

Well done Jools. When the wind blows across those open spaces it can feel really raw can't it. I had to smile though when your eyes let you down reading the weather forecast. 🀣🀣

Doh! I think I just wanted to believe it, even though I could hear the wind howling down the chimney πŸ˜‚

Sure was a success. πŸ‘ Excellent work - facing some challenges of resolve as well as the (not inconsiderable) physical. πŸ’¨ πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ I imagine you felt on top of the world when you got home.πŸ₯£ β˜•οΈπŸ«–

I felt windswept! Hair was wrecked! Apart from that, yes - I did feel that I had achieved 😊

Ooh er that sounded tough! You gave those gremlins what for though! You must have gotten a great glow on after that - there's nothing like triumphing over adversity to make you feel great πŸ’ͺπŸ˜‡
