Sunshine Run ☀️😎☀️

Most of my runs at the moment are timed to minimise the risk of ice so it was great to get out in the sunshine for a relaxed run!

I'm still struggling with cadence though. With the demise of Endomondo ☹️, I've access to Map My Run and that keeps nagging me to increase cadence. My cadence was in the target range on this run but it felt like I was shuffling on the spot and I find it tricky keeping my pace down with a higher cadence. So, any thoughts / suggestions on cadence?

It nags me too; whether I'm in range or not it always wants me to try something ... mostly I try to ignore it! I should switch the link off!!!

🤣🤣 thanks Linda. Switching it off is certainly one way of dealing with it.

There again, increasing cadence does seem to help me to improve my pace without putting in extra effort so there might be something in it.

Interesting, I do remember worrying about cadence last year then ignored it. I've just looked through a selection of runs over the last month and my cadence seems to average out about 164 spm. I guess it is all down to speed and height, the longer your legs the longer your natural stride length. Happy running 🤗

Mine's a bit lower than that if I just ignore it. Think I'll carry on messing around with it on my short runs and see what happens.

I've just looked up my husbands and son in laws cadence/stride length/speed. Really interesting. Fit 29 yr old male same height me but really short legs with runs 4:32 / km cadence 176 stride 1.25mFit 63 year old 6ft tall 5:30 / km cadence 162 stride 1.12

Now, I would assume my hubby being so much taller / longer legs would have had the longer stride length, so obviously son in law is literally flying along, feet barely touching the ground to have that speed and stride length. Anyway a few numbers to think about
