Today I ran my last run of Ju-ju’s Magic plan. I just had a 4K run to finish but as this is my last year of 2020 I decided I was going to finish in style and run my second 10km and get a few more Kms for the 2020 challenge!!
Dressed in my base layer, long sleeved running top, fleece and my new running gloves (OMG what a difference they make!!) and my old ear phones (going to wear my AirPods next run!). I walked down to Battersea Park. It was cold out but I felt warm. After a few false starts of realising my Fitbit was not connecting yet again, I started my run. I noticed my watch was still saying connecting after a few minutes but I decided to ignore it and just enjoy this run and hopefully Strava will log my run.
It was busy in the park there was lots of people out. I really enjoyed this run and managed to run at a good steady pace and felt strong. I so enjoyed the time to think and enjoy the freedom and joy that running brings. I was so thrilled to see my time 58:20 my splits were 5:57, 5:51, 5:47, 5:45, 5:47, 5:47, 5:47, 5:47, 5:48 & 5:49. I can’t believe I have run my first sub 60 minutes 10k which was a great finish to the Ju-Ju’s Magic Plan and my last run of 2020. Fitbit recorded the laps but did not map my run and this run did not log on Strava.
I am looking forward to my next run and new running routes!!
Thank you for all your support, I love being part of this forum so much.
Wishing you all a happier New Year filled with lots of running and joy.

Wow, Rebecca - that’s a fantastic time! It was only a few weeks ago you were looking at 10K with envy, not thinking you’d be able to run that distance and just look at you now ! So proud of you for doing this. Now do you finally believe what we’ve known all along 😂 that you are capable of running whatever distance you want!
What an amazing run. I couldn’t keep that pace up for 1km let alone 10K! A truly exceptional run and given it’s the last run of the magic plan it’s even more incredible. Imagine what lace you’ll be running by the summer! Inspiring!
Really Well done 👏 9weeks2run. great way to finish off this strange year. I am hoping to start JuJus distance magic plan in the new year. So I need to plan some longer routes. I hope you enjoy your new found freedoms now you can run for 10 k. Such a great pace too. Amazing. 👏👏👏🎉🎉💥💥 happy new year to you 💥💥
Heh, well done, and omg, look at that pace! 🥵 but it must be comfortable for you, my first 10k, was about 90mins 🤣 you must be feeling very chuffed with that sub 60 min time. ☺ so what's the plan now, increase the km's maybe?
Yes I was really pleased with that although must say legs and knee were a bit achy the next few days so intend to slow it down next time won’t be running the next ones so fast.
I plan to run three times a week a 10k, 5k and 4K and see how I get on with that then I will increase the km’s.
That’s amazing Rebecca - wow! You have been so determined and really stuck to JuJu’s magic plan and an inspiration to me ...... always a few runs behind you on the other side of the park!🤩🤩I wonder what’s next? HM???
Frustratingly for me, we have a house full of Covid since Boxing Day, so no final 10K for me until after 6 Jan when we all come out of isolation 🥺
Hope you have a great new year and maybe see you in the park one day 😍
Sorry for the late response I have been working and it has been so busy been late home. Off today so catching up working tomorrow which will be my 5th long day since last Sunday.
Oh I am so sorry to hear that, how awful. I pray you are all OK and get better soon. Sending you get well wishes.
Thank you so much for all your support been great us both doing the plan and you are doing so amazing as well and are inspiring me!! That would be lovely. I look forward to reading your 10K post.
I plan to run three times a week a 10k, 5k and 4K and see how I get on with that then I will increase the km’s. I am going to slow down as legs were aching and knee felt a but sore the other day at work. What are your goals do you plan to do a HM?
Thank you for your get well wishes - luckily, I'm not too ill - although my husband and 17year old are not feeling great at all.
Sounds like you have a very demanding job? Long hours etc. Amazing that you've managed to fit your running in amongst it and done so brilliantly.
At the moment, my only goal is to reach that 10k - it seems like a long way off right now! I'll have to take it gently when I eventually get back out there, but at least I know it's possible.
A 10, 5 & 4 each week is fantastic - I'll look out for your posts - happy running! x
So glad to hear that you are not too ill I pray your husband and 17 year old feel better soon, must be dreadful you all being ill.
I am a nurse so the shifts are long this is a particularly bad week but I was lucky enough to have Christmas off. I should not moan so many people have lost their jobs and I am lucky to have a job. I find the running really helps me to relax and feel well. It is so good to have something positive to focus on.
You will do it, you was just slightly short of the 10k on one of your previous runs so you know you can do it but yes will need to take it slowly I will be cheering you on and look forward to reading your posts.
That’s the problem with work isn’t it? I planned to run after work today but slept in last night and was up for quite a bit of it so today I’m tired I’m a very slow runner and love now that I can run faster for part of it and carry on, but same as you, when I push it my legs protest
Yes it is so hard when working. I couldn’t run after work. I hope you sleep better tonight and have managed to rest today. I feel like I have a bit of a cold so have taken it easier today (once the dreaded food shopping was done!). I spoke to my son and grandchildren this afternoon which made my day!
I just looked back at this, that time is awesome! my first 10k took 1hr 45 mins and the second one took 1hr 43 mins an you have grandchildren? flipping awesome x
Ah thank you so much Sola that is so kind of you. I really enjoyed reading that post again, thank you so much. I was so happy that day, that was the last time I ran. I am so motivated to get back out running again not at that pace, though. I will be more than happy to get back running at a very slow pace.
It is so funny I was actually just looking at some running shorts online before checking my emails (I have such white legs and have not worn running shorts but one of my goals for this year was to get the confidence to wear running shorts in the hope of getting a bit of colouring to the legs this year!!).
Oh my three little bears 🐻🐻🐻❤️❤️❤️ I love them so much they are 11,10 and 5, best thing ever being a Grandma 🐻.
I hope you and Willow both had a lovely weekend. Take care and thank you so much reading that post again really made me smile.
Thank you so much LottieMW you are doing so amazing. I am going to stick to running 3 times a week 10k, 5k and 4K and see how I get on. I want to start running different locations from the park! Get out earlier, wear running shorts (I have not been brave enough to get my very white legs out!!!) and I think I would like to do the Vitality 10k in May.
Wales is very strict on travel...we’re only meant to exercise from our home ☹️
So on the one hand, I fancy now working through the distance plan...but on the other hand, I have no idea how long we’re going to be in this lockdown...so the long distances will be problematic.
Having said that, now I’ve done the 60 minutes with the 113m elevation...I’m sitting here thinking that maybe it wasn’t so bad...shoot me now please!🙈😱
Yes...It’s like the first National Lockdown, no unnecessary travelling...so I shouldn’t get in my car and drive to the park or canal. Saying that, though, the roads are nowhere near as quiet as they were back in March 😔
What a way to see the year out...if there was any doubt that the 1st 10k was a fluke then this run has proved it wrong, you smashed it out the park, amazing time 🏃♀️🎉👍
