Why are you trying to go fast in the heat? Just plod 😊

Try a hydration tablet drink after running in the heat too to replace lost salts 👍🏽

Hope you're feeling ok now? It's great that you were pleased with your time but Tasha99 's right - slow is the way to go in the heat! ☀️

Your body is already working hard to keep you cool by directing more blood to your skin to keep you cool. This means there is less taking oxygen to your muscles. We can offset this (to a degree!) by running slower! Always good to slow down gradually before you stop too.

For a real ( and more comfortable) increase in speed - wait for the cooler days in autumn. I always speed up when it cools down! 😀

I’m going out this morning and I’m scrapping my hill run and no way will be doing intervals. I’ll be bimbling, simple as that. You did great doing your fastest run to date, but if I were you I’d take everyone’s advice and slow right down during this hot spell. It’s not fun and it’s not good for those who aren’t used to it!

Enjoy your running. 😀

Definitely recommend not trying any personal bests on hottest days of the year! Apparently, we should move netter when we are warmer - but not when too warm, so best times for time breakthroughs, weather-wise would be spring and autumn - and perhaps UK traditional summer! (- but due to Climate Crisis, we have to now adjust our opinion of a "normal" summer).

Really well done. I’m on W5 and did my short run this morning and it was hot 🥵 Managed my long run on Monday morning so just got my 30 minutes run to do on Friday morning hopefully. I’m really really slow but am just pleased I’m managing the runs in this heat. Take care. And well done again 👏👏👏👏
