‘You can’t go over it, you can’t go round it, you’ll have to go through it’!

This refrain from the wonderful children’s book ‘The Bear Hunt’ came to mind on my run today!

I don’t like to eat before a run so usually go earlyish morning but today we eventually got out around, lunchtime due to the weather. We still managed to catch a few heavy showers but I don’t mind the rain once I get out. I tried going around this big puddle but quickly realised how wet and muddy the grass was! In fact so muddy I ended up running back through the puddle to clean off my shoes 😄 Maybe I need waterproof socks? Squiggy looking rather wet and muddy and fed up with posing for a photo (‘Let’s get going Mum’!). Enjoyable 10k despite showers, mud, puddles and wet feet. Happy weekend running everyone 😊🏃🏻‍♀️🐾

🙂I smiled when I read the tile of your post🐻 - it's often one that comes to my mind too when parts of my bridleway get flooded and it's 'run through' or 'turn back'....I always run through! I have had waterproof socks in the past which are great in the very cold weather but I invariably end up with a hole in them. Usually I stick to ordinary socks and a quick draining pair of trail shoes! Well done on your run and 😍 to the lovely Squiggy.🙂

No, squiggy doesn't look too impressed getting a photo taken 🤣🐕 .

Sounds like a great run and you're right much safer to run through the puddle 😊

Made me laugh! All too many of my runs look and feel like this at the moment. Roll on Spring... or at least some frost so the mud is manageable!

My usual tactic of leaping puddles would have worked on your path. Well done on getting through it.

Did you catch one🐻?

Squiggy does look a bit sorry for himself.

Well done on your adventure Sue, and braving the elements.😊xxx

Aww poor Mr Squiggs. Xx

I find I am better with merino socks on a cold, wet run - my feet are still wet, just not as cold as in ordinary socks.

I always have dry socks for afterwards in the car.
