10-20-30 report - Hamstring Twang!

On my 5th rep of 10-20-30 today, just as I was relaxing into the recovery from the 10 seconds at maximum, my right hamstring went twang! 😳 Odd it should happen when I was so well warmed up.

So I am now on the IC with foot in the air and iced wheatbag under my thigh.

The damned nuisance of it is that (1) I had a date with Sandie1961 at Keswick Parkrun on Saturday, (2) Saturday is my Graduation Anniversary. 😫

Hope your day is going heaps better!

👿❤

Oh no! Twinges can be expected/accepted but twangs are definitely not wanted on the voyage. Fingers crossed it’s not a bad one. And Dexy sends a hug too.

Aghhh! Rest easy and I hope your spell on the IC is a short one!

Oh no that’s such a shame TOF. ☹️ 👎

You’re doing everything right by resting it immediately, so hopefully you won’t be on the IC for longer than necessary. Bodies are delicate machines aren’t they? Like you said, you were already warmed up.

Chin up. You’ll have time to plan an extra special graduation celebration when it does happen - and PR isn’t going anywhere! 👍

Sorry about your twinges TOF, just hope that you recover quickly and miss only one Keswick Park this weekend and celebrate your graduation a week late.

Yesterday I went for a gait analysis and bought the recommended shoes and socks to match.🏃😊

What a bummer, I know how you feel theoldfellow. I felt as fit as a flea yesterday, ran 8 miles in fact. This morning I attended a kettlebells class for the first time and pulled a muscle in my back. Why when things are going smoothly, like for you, then injuries happen. Sid’s law I guess. Take care 😫😫

Sorry to hear about your sprain too. I'm hoping that is all mine is. Sid's law, yes indeed.

Love and Prayers.

Hope that hamstring is ok now??? How are you doing?

Improving well, thanks. I'm going to rest it this next week for sure, but right now I can find places to sit or stand where it isn't killing me. The really good news is that I can sleep well, as it doesn't hurt when laying down. And after 3 days I can walk slowly, but not quite stride-out, without much pain.

Rest sounds perfect and keep icing too. Just think that Every day it will have healed a little more. Good to hear you are sleeping now too.

Oh TOF !! I had a bit of a hamstring twinge after intervals too...I think of mine as 30:20:10 so I am gradually building up pace into the 10...probably doesn’t matter...stuff just happens!! Hope it goes away quickly ☹️

Hope your hamstring is well on the mend. A spat of hamstring pulls going on in this group, me included!

Oh bad luck. I found I needed to rest it for 2 weeks after it was apparently better - 4 weeks in total - and then ease in very carefully. First time round I went back too quickly and it went again. Take care.
