How am I going to manage to get through this evening, and then sleep tonight? Tell me I’m not the only person who finds the prospect of their first real race more exciting than Christmas as a child?
Following on from Dexy5 ’s post and her request for me to lay myself out flat - here I am. I toyed with the blue top, but it didn’t seem jolly enough, so I’ll be in pink, possibly with my blue jacket on to warm up in, but that’ll definitely be round my waist for the start. Otherwise I’ll be too 🥵.
Garmin is all charged up, Jelly Babies will be secreted in my belt (not up my sleeve like once before, where they got sticky and grim 🙃), and I’ve bought a brand new pack of gold safety pins. My daughter and I toyed with gold or silver - and we decided that gold for was for winners! 😅 (I need all the help I can get!) 🙄🐌😅
PR volunteering complete, so next stop - Millennium Square, Bristol tomorrow morning. Oh my days.
I’m going to take tons of pics when I’ve met up with Dexy and UpTheStanley , and I’ll post a run report tomorrow afternoon, whatever the result! Anything is good for me. Dead last? Hopefully not though!

Yep, definitely had to be the pink vest with the pink race number. I’ve just heard that my friends have picked up our race packs, so we don’t have to queue up at 0730! It’s great that our names are on the number too. That means even strangers can cheer us on. See you tomorrow- sleep well cheeky. 🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️😴
I'd be completely beside myself! I'm already mildly overwrought and mine's not until July! I so hope you have a wo fearful experience. Don't worry about the time - just soak up the atmosphere of race day.
I’m so glad it’s not just me Pianism! I also have Race for Life at the end of June, so I’ll go from one state of excitement straight into another. My poor family! 😅😅😅
Enjoy, I repeat, enjoy the run tomorrow cheeky, that is the main thing, try and relax tonight, hydrate by drinking plenty of water today.
I have had a look at the website, there are about as many 'wave colours' as a rainbow, not sure which wave you are in, but that doesn't matter, relax and enjoy your first main event 10K 🏃 🏃 😊👍
Isn’t it amazing? I’ve even put the pins in my number all ready. I’d have pinned it to my top too, but I need to position it right with my flip belt in situ when it’s on. Everything else is ready though. 👍😀
Don't use up all of your nervous energy before the race CC. You will bouncing off the ceiling at this rate! Hope you have a brilliant run and feel just as perky tomorrow nigh!😊😊😊

That’s great to be so excited. I think I’m more nervous! (Have my first 10k race tomorrow too). Keep overthinking everything - have I trained enough or too much this week? Have I eaten the right things? Have I drunk enough today? Will I get up the hills? 🤔😬

Love the outfit - perfectly Co-ordinated! Enjoy the run - don’t start too fast or you’ll have stuffed the jelly babies before the 4K mark! I may see you in Brizzle next year - I quite fancy doing that one. Am doing my own ‘virtual’ race down near Oke today - Zombies Run Spring race. Go us!
Aww Fionn42, I should have taken your advice! I started off quickly and my legs paid for it in the final 4k - but I kept running and it was awesome! 🏃♀️🏃♀️😀
