How am I going to manage to get through this evening, and then sleep tonight? Tell me Iβm not the only person who finds the prospect of their first real race more exciting than Christmas as a child?
Following on from Dexy5 βs post and her request for me to lay myself out flat - here I am. I toyed with the blue top, but it didnβt seem jolly enough, so Iβll be in pink, possibly with my blue jacket on to warm up in, but thatβll definitely be round my waist for the start. Otherwise Iβll be too π₯΅.
Garmin is all charged up, Jelly Babies will be secreted in my belt (not up my sleeve like once before, where they got sticky and grim π), and Iβve bought a brand new pack of gold safety pins. My daughter and I toyed with gold or silver - and we decided that gold for was for winners! π (I need all the help I can get!) πππ
PR volunteering complete, so next stop - Millennium Square, Bristol tomorrow morning. Oh my days.
Iβm going to take tons of pics when Iβve met up with Dexy and UpTheStanley , and Iβll post a run report tomorrow afternoon, whatever the result! Anything is good for me. Dead last? Hopefully not though!
Hereβs to fun runs this weekend everyone! πββοΈππββοΈππ

Thanks CatMo! No real plan other than to enjoy every moment and not go off too fast. Iβm a Steady Eddie, so as long as I stick to that I know Iβll make the distance. Not fast, but Iβll do it! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Yep, definitely had to be the pink vest with the pink race number. Iβve just heard that my friends have picked up our race packs, so we donβt have to queue up at 0730! Itβs great that our names are on the number too. That means even strangers can cheer us on. See you tomorrow- sleep well cheeky. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπ΄
I'd be completely beside myself! I'm already mildly overwrought and mine's not until July! I so hope you have a wo fearful experience. Don't worry about the time - just soak up the atmosphere of race day.
Iβm so glad itβs not just me Pianism! I also have Race for Life at the end of June, so Iβll go from one state of excitement straight into another. My poor family! π π π
Enjoy, I repeat, enjoy the run tomorrow cheeky, that is the main thing, try and relax tonight, hydrate by drinking plenty of water today.
I have had a look at the website, there are about as many 'wave colours' as a rainbow, not sure which wave you are in, but that doesn't matter, relax and enjoy your first main event 10K π π ππ
Thank you Al! Oh, Iβm most definitely in the pink wave (πππ), which is fine by me. At least I can overtake some walkers! πββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈ
Itβll be amazing, and Bristol knows how to do amazing, whichβll make it even more fun. π
Iβm drinking tons of water today too. π§ π§ ππ
Isnβt it amazing? Iβve even put the pins in my number all ready. Iβd have pinned it to my top too, but I need to position it right with my flip belt in situ when itβs on. Everything else is ready though. ππ
Don't use up all of your nervous energy before the race CC. You will bouncing off the ceiling at this rate! Hope you have a brilliant run and feel just as perky tomorrow nigh!πππ
I am soooooo excited for you ππΌββοΈππΌββοΈπππππππ. Fabulous choice of outfit as usual Cheeky π. You are so ready for this. Happy Happy Running and big hugs to you, Dexy and UTS. I am so going with you next year.
Thatβs great to be so excited. I think Iβm more nervous! (Have my first 10k race tomorrow too). Keep overthinking everything - have I trained enough or too much this week? Have I eaten the right things? Have I drunk enough today? Will I get up the hills? π€π¬
I hope your race goes really well - look forward to hearing all about it!
Thanks Teacher, good luck with your race too. Look forward to hearing how it goes - youβll do fantastically, and yes youβre sure to have done all the right things. ππ
I hope you got some rest last night. π€ As many have said already, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy everything! Youβll look fab! Looking forward to the race report!
Best of luck there cheeky, Iβve my leg of the marathon today, breaking out in every imaginary ache and pain , omg, what we put ourselves through!! Iβll await your update ππ
Love the outfit - perfectly Co-ordinated! Enjoy the run - donβt start too fast or youβll have stuffed the jelly babies before the 4K mark! I may see you in Brizzle next year - I quite fancy doing that one. Am doing my own βvirtualβ race down near Oke today - Zombies Run Spring race. Go us!
Aww Fionn42, I should have taken your advice! I started off quickly and my legs paid for it in the final 4k - but I kept running and it was awesome! πββοΈπββοΈπ
Hope you slept OK Cheeky. Wow! Just loving your outfit you and Dexy5 will look stunning together. Feel so excited for you, have a wonderful time. Photos please? π πββοΈπββοΈ And not forgetting UTS. πββοΈ
