I’ve been hanging around here for a while after graduating C25K because it seemed like the right place to be even though I didn’t think I wanted to do 10k. 5 is plenty far enough thanks.
Anyway, running 5k every time is getting a bit boring and having read lots of stuff about the way to improve your 5k time is either to do intervals or increase distance, or both, I decided that distance would be preferable 😂
So this morning I set out with the intention of running 5.5k. I did it, and managed to smash my 5k while I was at it!!

Fantastic, really well done! 👏👏 And I’m willing to bet you’ll find yourself sneaking up to 10k before you know it! I fully recommend ju-ju- ‘s Magic 10. Loads of us on here have done it at least once! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♂️
Definitely! The Magic 10 programme was what helped me. The short run, the Parkrun and the progressively longer runs each week gave me a lot of confidence.
Yay, well done you!! I was only ever going to do 5k....then did jujus plan...and now working back from my injury last year I am trying the nhs Bridge to 10k app for a change. Going well so far. It seems odd running and walking after just running continuously for so long but it seems to be working.
Well done you! That's a really good time! I graduated c25k in January and am working on distance. I find this gives me extra stamina to really enjoy the shorter runs. When I am pushing myself on distance I think about the joy of my shorter run of the week just listening to lovely music and enjoying the spring flowers coming through. Happy Saturday!
Whoohoo! Before you know it, you'll see 10k in your sights and will be asking for your graduation badge. But in the meantime, enjoy your runs, building up as you see fit. Definitely take a peak at ju-ju's 10k plan. It has worked for so many of us on here. It is a great plan to build up your distance.
