A question for the collective.

This is my total of steps for today, my day at work. I was on my feet for 11 hours, (I had an hour break in total) and my feet are absolutely killing me. My question is this:

Why is it I can walk 7 miles and have feet of fire, but 3.5 - 4 miles of running doesn't bother them?

First things first.... What kind of footwear?

I easily do 5 to 8 miles a day in work boots but I did get decent insoles last year...

Karrimoor boots. Exceptionally comfortable. But I over pronate when I run, so I worry that if I wear anything apart from ankle supportive boots or running shoes, I'll knackered my knees.

Define "feet of fire". Are they overheating? Pins and needles? Just over tired? 🤔

Maybe the increased heart rate pumps a bit more blood to the soles of your feet?

Or your feet spend less time on the ground?

Lighter steps and the love of running giving wings to your feet:) One you do through necessity... one you do for pure pleasure... :)

The time factor.

You can achieve 7000+ steps in a 45 minute run and warm up, cool down.

But you are on your feet all day at work.

I’d go with the time factor as some others have already suggested. Being on your feet and walking/standing all day it a long time compared to even a 10k run (or any run really.) I used to stand a lot at work and my feet, legs and back were often agony.

Not what you're looking for?
