How do you eat an elephant.?

Someone posted on here just that.

Yes it is one bite at a time.πŸ‘

The formation of my new personal programme is just that.

The marathon distance each week for three weeks.

So 42km divide by 7 days divided by 2 runs per day is only 3km/run.That is a manageable bite.

The fourth week is starvationπŸ€” HM,

22k total, so 6days of 2km and 3 tests. A 10km readiness test, a gym strength improvement test and a pace improvement test.

I feed my running brain from this forum and have access to a Mon Active Trainer who takes the Woodland Workout Weekly Session every Friday. He is very knowledgeable and takes his job role responsibilities as it should be.I am quite sure he thinks I am crackers now.But there is only one person responsible for my actions and it is I.It is always a lovely session and a lovely group.

The fourth week is a reduced impact and a recovery from that, but a great opportunity to also do new strength and cross training stuff in the gym.

I am hoping to shed a final stone from round the middle and if anyone has any recommendations I would love to hear of your experience.

I understand there is new thinking on this difficult task and new claims, through diet and compound exercises, that get good results with less physical effort.πŸ€”. Perhaps more effective.πŸ€”

Some of the traditional methods are being questioned.πŸ€”

I am pleased with my continuous running programme and I am definately stronger,a little quicker and just know I can shed a few pounds and not muscle.

I have only completed 2 weeks of daily runs and one week of double runs per day , so 3 weeks total , and now on a reduced km week.Recovery is good and I am looking forward to the next month of continuous daily running.

Early days, but for me , what is not to like.

Actually along side this and since having a troublesome tooth Xrayed on the 1st August I had a full facial X Ray yesterday at the hospital to see what my dentist has to do on Thursday 16th. I have managed to contain the pain, but can see it far enough now.

Looking forward to joining the boat on the 17/8/18.

For all those joining, maybe best to bring your life jacket. Not sure if Jay has enough to go round.πŸ’₯πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ†πŸ’₯

I was going to suggest β€œwith some soft scoop Cornish ice cream” but it looks like you have it covered already.

I’m glad you are trying something different. We should all be so brave to step out of the shadow of those who went before. Maybe this will work for you, maybe it won’t, but in the words of Harry Hill, β€œonly one way to find out...”

Love ice cream. Never thought of that.Wish I had known sooner.

Maybe it would have saved me a bit of time.

Thank you for your kind words.

These thoughts are only possible from being on this forum.

I think I said in my last post, if running brain has got this wrong well it’s a P45 and a new plan.

Actually the new plan has been formulated by you. Ice Cream.

It is on the shelf, signed ,sealed and ready.

Maybe the reserve plan will prevail.πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

Love your user name.πŸ‘πŸ‘

Got connections in the lovely NE.

A little salt and pepper and maybe some chilli flakes for the tough bits!

All seems to be going according to plan - may the running force be with you my friend!

ps - pink is correct - definitely start at the back!

How about some Scottish ice cream Tbae, Mackies of Aberdeen, Graham's of Bridge of Allen to name a few, an excellent post you wrote. Like the way you divide 42K into a week, I was sorry to read that you are deaf on one ear on one of your posts.

Yes fond memories Alan BofA when lived in Falkirk. The boss buys Mackies often.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Glad to hear you are getting sorted and planning getting back to your previous very good pace. Enjoyed the chat by you , Sallenson and the Oldfellow on your post.Interesting predictive stats and conversation.

Not totally Alan, loss of some hearing due to a one off inner ear infection, nothing like that inspiritational woman of steel, Mrs Raz, as I call her.Amazing she is.Do not know how she has done it.

Funny Alan you can lose stuff and your body somehow compensates and just copes.

Have been without one eye central vision for 27 years now and although an inconvenience you get other benefits.

Yes, like the numbers to be memorable and simple.πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚.

I am looking forward to completing another months cycle and see what improvements it brings, if any.Encouraging so far.

Certainly just enjoying it, although the garden keeps calling for attention.

Atb Alan and good luck with your good progress.πŸ’₯πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’₯

Does it come with fries though?

Tbae in reply to sallenson

I think this elephant may not be on the menu for long.

Would Ice Cream and fries be acceptable Sir.

If that’s not acceptable Sir I am afraid all that can be offered is one month old elephants ass with fries of course.πŸ€”πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

In Glasgow, some takeaways sell 'fried Mars Bars' yuk, I understand the original Mars Bar is 'deep fried' in unhealthy fat, sprinkled with a little chocolate and then sold to someone with a very potty belly, certainly some person who could not walk a mile, let alone run a mile.

You have to laugh Alan.πŸ€”

Lovely people the Glaswegians Alan.πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ‘

Yes, I met that man on my graduation run on the 18th June, I had ran just over half-way, I was just turning after passing him, so by then I saw who he was and he shouted at me "go on yoursel", you don't forget these little incidents especially in such an important run as that was.
