In a fit of enthusiasm having enjoyed using the C25K podcasts a while ago I downloaded a couple of audiofuel running tracks. One was a pyramid intervals thing which mentioned 180 bpm the very idea of which terrified me and the other was a 'medium intensity' long run.
Anyway have never used either until today when, unable to decide what I might like to listen to as I looped around the River Cherwell in Oxford, I thought I'd try the hour long run. And I have to say I really enjoyed it. I know the music's cheesy but I quite like mindlessly running to a beat and the pace for this run was much more even and faster than my usual longer runs so all in all a good start to the weekend.
My only complaint is the male voice over Laura replacement - let's call him feet to the beat man - didn't introduce himself. Think I'm going to name him Loose Luke as he kept telling me to run loose (also referred to marathon training on several occasions which made me chuckle).
Happy running everyone π

Ha! Magdalen Bridge by Magdalen college. Our house here is on the market and, with luck, we will be back there soon. Sounds like you had an entertaining run. X
Me too!! Iβve been running with the Week9 Couch25k podcast, then partway through I zip it back 10 mins so I can keep going. I need a new running soundtrack( to blot out the voices in my head when I run βnakedβ).
If you have Spotify or Deezer you can put together your own playlist. Have a search in the forum for Retro Runners for suggestions for an '80s playlist, or I have a post for ideas for a '60s playlist. Hidden also has lots of suggestions for playlists - the most recent was a boyband inspired list.
I'm about to do a Shrek inspired playlist. πΆπ and will post the list soon.
I was using the first hour which did (a bit surprisingly) ramp up the pace at the end! I liked it because I can essentially zone out, enjoy the scenery and be keeping up a good pace. If I listen to my own playlists I end up running in time to tracks but the pace can then be all over the place and if I listen to podcasts or dramas I sometimes get a bit lazy on the pace front (though sometimes that's exactly the sort of run I feel like which is ok too!).
