Breast cancer 49years old her2+ve Er/pr-ve Grade 3 lymph node negative

My mother got diagnosed with breast cancer in left breast with her2+ve Er/pr-ve Grade 3 lymph node -ve. Doctor recommended us to go for mastectomy and after that for chemotherapy with 4#EC cycles and 12# weekly paclitaxol and trastuzumab. I am concerned about chemotherapy cycles, is it necessary for my mother because my mother is afraid of chemo cycles and what are common side effects and will she get fully cured form this cancer

1. Whether necessary or not is decided on several factors in histopathology report. Sit with your Oncologist and understand whether and why it’s needed. If not satisfied, you may consider a second opinion from another Oncologist.

2. As for common side effects, let your Oncologist decide the drugs. After that, he will guide you as to the side effects of those drugs. And then you can read around as well, about the drugs. There are more than 500 questions related to chemo, on this forum. It will help us to help you, if you can take a little effort and read around first and ask questions then.
