The so called emperor of maladies the big “C” the great equalizer meets its match in those who have beaten cancer, survived and then thrived. They all have a message to people out there who are battling cancer, a message of triumph, victory and one that is achieved without battling an eyelid.
To celebrate the spirit of the survivor’s each year a concept was ideated in 2014 and this campaign was called the SELFV Survivor Stories. In this campaign survivors from across the globe are invited to shoot a SelfV (Self-Video) on their smart phones capturing their inspiring story of hope and victory.
The idea here is to provide a ray of hope for cancer patients fighting the disease, raise awareness among other survivors and the society as a whole. The SelfV’s can be uploaded on facebook.com/selfv/ & selfv.in.
SelfV Survivor Stories is a unique platform which celebrates the indomitable spirit of cancer survivors. This is an annual campaign, which is front ended by Pink Hope Cancer Patient Support Group in association with HCG - The Specialist in Cancer Care. The main essence of the campaign captures the story of survivors, their struggle and conquest over cancer. These stories become an ideal encouragement of hope for many patients fighting cancer and break the stigma attached to the disease.
The theme for this year is Celebrating Life. The theme captures the way people live their lives in today’s times. Celebrating Life expressed as One Life, Celebrate It – clearly brings out the fact that cancer is not the end-all of life. There is so much more to it that needs to be enjoyed and cancer is just a blip, which can be easily surpassed. With access to great technology and care, patients win over cancer and live a beautiful life.
The SelfV Survivor Stories 2018 campaign started with a curtain raiser and a press conference along with the cancer survivors where the 4th season of the campaign was launched. The competition will run for 45 days and it ends with a grand finale.
