Swelling in hand after 5 years of tnbc cancer tretment
Just get it checked.
It’s best to meet a physiotherapist trained in management of Lymphedema. It may or may not be Lymphedema. Sometimes the swelling may go away in a few days. And sometimes it persists. If you don’t know where to find such a physiotherapist, ask your Surgical Oncologist, the one who operated upon you. All Surgical Oncologists will definitely know where to send for further management of same since many patients get it time and again. If you are in Mumbai, Tata Memorial has a very good Occupational Therapy department which assesses the severity of Lymphedema and advises on how to manage it.
Thanx for the advice, actually I got treatment in Chandigarh .
Can we cum at your clinic to consulat regarding this it condition persist for two three more days.
You won’t need to. Like I said earlier, such swellings are waxing and waning. They come and they go. Wait for a week. If it still persists, meet your Surgeon. Since I stay in Mumbai, I know about resources limited to Mumbai, don’t know much outside. But I am sure there will be good support system there in Chandigarh as well. You doctor will guide you for that. In any case, this is not something very urgent. You can easily wait for a few days and see. However, if the pain in index finger doesn’t settle, then I would advise you not to wait and meet your surgeon to sort it out. On days when swelling is much, avoid doing much of work with affected arm, or lifting weights. Apart from that, no precautions, no medicines. Don’t worry. You will be fine soon.
Thanx doctor , I stay in Mumbai only , tretment was done in Chandigarh. Swelling is little less today but pain is there when I press finger nd hand otherwise as such no problem in doing any work.
