My mother has been diagnosed with recurrent BC in 1st and 4t ribs and sternum.Now after 30 days of radiotheraphy cancer in her ribs are totally gone, Now some amount of cancer was in sternum,now our oncologist preferred us to take Femara and monthly once zoldrenic acid, I just wanted to know how much did hormonal therapy will benefit her.Her ER score is 8/8 and PR score is 4/8 and HER2 is negative.doctors please suggest your feedback.
Also did chest xray and Us for abdomen and pelvis is enough for checking whther recurrnce is there or not because our oncologist suggested to do this check up and PET scan is not mandatory

PET indeed is not mandatory. It is decided by the Oncologist; some may need PET and some may be screened by other modalities like ultrasound. Depends on lot many factors, the type of spread, the aggressiveness of disease etc. So please do follow your Oncologist and do the ultrasounds and all. If something suspicious turns up, he may advise a PET, that may be his plan
Hello Sir, Thanks for your valuable feedback.My mom has been under hormonal therapy for past 4 months,how often we can check whether she is responding to treatment.Also will taking X-ray will be a problem as she is having some small lesions in her sternum as per last PET scan report from April Month.Pls advise
