Hi Sandhya,

I understand its very prominent side effect of chemotherapy and must be a difficult time for your mom. However trust me there are really good wigs available in the market and you need to do some good research before finalising as it will have to be used for a long time.

You could check with the medical centre as most of them have a prosthetic s section or even have contacts for wig dealers who can provide one at good rates. Some tips before going wig shopping.

1) If budget is not a constraint you could also check on making a wig with her hair which will be tailor made .

2) If otherwise get a complete trim done on her hair before it starts falling as it will save from the emotional aspect as well. Moreover the fit could be checked better.

3) Go for a one wig with real hair or just a mix of real and syntheic as it can be managed just like real hair in terms of washing & conditioning. Pl avoid synthetic ones.

4) Pl check on the pricing and i suggest to get it from a wholesaler who will provide it at half the price as the salons/wig shops charge very high prices.

I'm not sure how the cost varies across cities. But i got mine from Delhi wholesaler which is a mix of real and synthetic hair cost me 12 K which looks fab and is long enough a bit above my waist .(which they sell for around 20 k in hair transplant salons) .Its looks real and everybody thinks i got my hair straightened and volumised.

Tailor made with real hair will cost around 20 - 25 k.

If you want i could check with the dealer as they do supply pan India.
