As individuals we can only urge friends and relatives to have mamograms once they reach the appropriate age. Organisations working in this field like Indian Cancer Society should mount campaigns to bring awareness about all aspects of cancer and so should government health departments. If you read the book Emperor of All Maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee you will realise what fierce commitment there was to find cures for cancer from public organisations, government, researchers and doctors in the United States from which we have all benefited
