There are marker tests like CA153.Increase in number would mean recurrance.

CA153 gives numbers.Upto 34(I think) is normal. They write it on report as to what is normal & what is not.You have to compare two reports to understand the progress of disease.Thyrocare charges Rs.700 for this test.

Recurrence is definitely a thought which all breast cancer patients keep getting even after treatment is long over. Recurrence can be local, meaning at the site of surgery or it can be distant where it can be in lungs or liver or bone or other organs. Depending on site there will be symptoms. You can read up on google. And don't worry. I can understand. Divert attention to life and other issues and soon these thoughts will become lesser and lesser

plz do not think about mets based on that CA 15.3 report. There are many non cancerous situations where it may just rise. DIscuss with your Oncologist what he feels about this, and whether he wishes to do any tests further. Your Doctor would probably do a chest x ray and sonography and if grossly all is well, then he would just continue a routine follow up.

Hi Chandra even more than one and half year of treatement my sister is still not feeling energetic as before - may be she has got her energy levels 60 to 65% back. It will take time to get back to normal as before. Try to meet the oncologist - do routine tests - that all we can do
